I ran across this post in mangaupdates. Basically, some manga are being censored and removed from some online manga sharing sites, like mangafox. Reading the thread it seems to be mainly targeting loli/shota content manga but it appears some others that have been tagged as adult/mature are also missing. Seems to be the advertisers of the site are threatening to pull adds unless they censor certain content.

This list to some of the "pointed" manga series that have been subject to being removed.

Now it kind of comes together a little, a few select mangas that I know I've been reading in the past at mangafox I couldn't search for it anymore, and found that they've been removed because they are too mature for the mangafox audience.

Not like I really care about loli/shota, but I do find censoring annoying. Hopefully this doesn't get too blown out of proportion and you see some heavy censoring. I really don't want to be like an IRC hunter to download manga... Specially some of the older stuff where the groups are now closed and you can't really find there stuff anymore.

Catriona

I don't think it will be heavy censoring.
Don't worry ^^
Translating Spirit of the Ocean ch 19
Translating Black Bird ch 48

mmm... yes, I came across with that rumour too... it's unfair, censoring isn't the solution...  :'(

If you look past the loli in Vampire Bund, it seems like a really good manga.

Hmm, Nina is all cool, but that's besides the point.

It's the first time I have come across this and I think it is unfair. As long as tehre are thousands of free pornographic websites available for everyone, including children, I don't think they hae any right to censor such things.

But Sharwin, there is always a site or two that gets left out, even from such censoring.

Oh I know, but I just find it annoying to have to google it and find it (I know like a huge extra 10 seconds xD...)!

That must be a pain... I mean, 10 seconds...

It's funny though, how they censor some stuff, yet other, even much exposing, are left. There is just never justice.

PS: I just stumpled upon a similar to Dance in the Vampire Bund manga. Blood Alone. it even has a vampire loli and all...

I'm a staff on Mangafox, and I have got to say...this thing really pissed me off -_-
Google was apparently accused of promoting child pornography and so we were forced to lock all manga that were loli/shota. But it didn't end there.
Our company got scared, and decided that it would be best to just shut off all mature manga.
Even yaoi and yuri (which gets the most views, btw).
Now we're at the point of re-evaluating the whole database of manga to see if a manga is indeed mature or if the tag was placed mistakenly.
:\ Not fun.

Dia

really????... but... but.. some loli mangas are good!!!!!!!!!!!  :'( I miss vampire bund... if black bird is considered to be ecchi or mature... I'll go on strike!!!!  :donwan:

myst

Awww , that's sucks :(
I like reading some yaoi manga and right now red hawks is thinking of dropping vampire bund.
