pinkznotdead

Baka to test!

It's really funny..

:wahaha:

icewing

i went through shiki's anime list...and found a couple nice ones.

i have great expectations for this one: http://myanimelist.net/anime/9938/Ikoku_Meiro_no_Crois%C3%A9e

Furgeson

Watching Chaos;Head right now, I have no idea what possessed me.
Just like when I watched Akira. Yeah, I'm weird about classics.

pinkznotdead

hi! do you know what is the name of this character?

icewing

O_O does she have FANGS?

>.< are you sure it's not an OC?

pinkznotdead

I really don't know..
I just saw her on yahoo when I'm searching for an anime uniform for my cosplay..

icewing

O_O i don't know...

I need to sort out my anime list...>.>

Deadman the anime is not worth your time. Deadman the manga with its much more intriguing cast of psychotic characters is. I insists~ XD

I've never read the manga as the anime was good already.. Will try it then~ :D

icewing

O_O...i've seen my bro read deadman from afar...

BUT IS IT REALLY THAT GOOD?!

Furgeson

It's entertaining...? :) You have to try it to know if it's your kind of thing or not. Though I have to say episode 1 of deadman (the anime XD) is a really good hook. Grabs you in like a fishie.

And yay, your bro came to visit? :D

icewing

xD...

and no...he did not visit =_=
i just remember spying on him a long time ago and seeing deadman on...

I love recommendations threads! It's great to pick up new series from people with good taste  :goodjob:

Action:
Kekkaishi (shonen, boy and girl save school grounds from spirits at night. Underrated abroad, did well in Japan. One of my faves)
Death Note (what would happen if you could kill anyone by writing their name?)
FMA (original anime series or brotherhood. Brotherhood is the first anime redone, this time following the manga closely)
The usual suspects - Naruto, One Piece, Bleach (WARNING: Be prepared to invest like YEARS into filler episodes, 60 manga volumes and 400 anime eps!)
Crest of the Stars (underrated space opera with blue-haired elves.)

Romance:
Fruits Basket (family curses, ahoy!)
Fushigi Yuugi (if you can stand all the soppiness)

Slice of life:
Wandering son/Hourou Musuko(about a boy who wants to be a girl, and his facing transgender issues, a really gentle series)
Chihayafuru (Chihaya learns a card game called Karuta, learns to kick ass and make friends)

Fluff:
Chii's Sweet Home (chii is a cute kitten. That's really all you need to know!

Weirdness:
Mawaru Penguindrum (penguins, hints of incest, time travel, secret terrorism and orphans...just weird but a little awesome)
Durarara!! (gangsters, irish headless fairies, demonic headless motorbike riders, hackers, and all round fun!)
Kino no Tabi. (A girl called Kino and her talking motorcycle Hermes wander through strange lands being philosophical)

Mythology, supernatural
Mushishi (thoughtful man solves Japanese peasants' problems with mysterious magical organisms called Mushi)
Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume is a friendless boy whose ancestor put him in a lot of trouble with various magical beings he can see. Now he must return something to them...)
XXXholic

Anime Films:
Anything Studio Ghibli
5cm per second
The Place Promised in our Early Days
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Most of the series I love are like one or two seasons long, so not more than 24 or 52 episodes, so quite watchable without having to give up your life for 3 months. Hehehehe

xianchan

Actually, a yaoi anime called Junjou Romantica. I stumbled across it quite by accident. There's nothing about it that is especially awesome, but at the same time there's something about it that makes it kind of addicting. I blew through the first season in two days. It would have been shorter, but I had to sleep sometime.

Misaki is suddenly having some unexpected and odd problems. What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother's best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn't enough, his suitor, Usami, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys' love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like "Misaki licks every inch of Usami's hot body"...well, let's just say that all hell breaks loose.

I started reading that one! [Should pick it back up...] It's a nice story

I recommend Shingeki no Kyojin (bloody, gory, and a whole load of awesome).
Because HOLY SHIT.

Vaux isn't censoring himself - it should mean something.
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

It's been popular everywhere. o__o
Which is strange because the manga's still in its early stages and it hasn't even hit 100 chapters yet.
BUT IT'S SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

Angel~

<.< >.> Have never heard of it before...

thanks to Shineshan <3

Vauxhall

What, where do you watch your anime?
Most of the popular streaming sites have Shingeki no Kyojin (aka Attack on Titan).
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

Angel~

Ohhh, I have heard of Attack on Titan! (didn't recognize the Jap name...)
Through some cosplayers though.. I rarely watch anime.

thanks to Shineshan <3

Vauxhall

Oh. Yeah, they have greatest cosplays, I swear. I heard of people standing on top of buildings and such to get the perfect shot but this one takes the cake:

That's the best Levi I've seen.

WAIT. I AM looking at a girl, right? @___@ Cosplayception.

Angel~

I think so, pretty sure...
But it is always SO hard to tell...  :swt:

Vauxhall

I knowwww. @___@
Some boys in cosplay are too pretty.

But Reika definitely is a girl. Ahahaha. I just found out Quila is a Reika fangirl. xD

`Shally.

Not sure if you ladies / gents already watch it or not, but I recommend Kyouko no Kanata
Even though i don't really like it, but it has good ratings, so I'm sure it should be your taste of anime. c:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Angel~

Interesting how you recommend an anime that you yourself don't really like...

thanks to Shineshan <3

`Shally.

Well, it seems like the type of anime you ladies / gents like to watch, so I thought maybe this anime might be their taste. I mean my friends are a bunch of otakus and they love that anime. I don't really know why, its just look exactly like deadman wonderland. -.-

Vauxhall

I watch Kyoukai no Kanata. It's not too bad. I'm only up to episode 5 though... and have been for a while. I'd give it a 6.5/10.

I recommend Btooom! I find it much more interesting than Sword Art Online.
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

yen_claire

I have watched Kyoukai no Kanata as well. The first few episodes are interesting, though I find myself losing the interest lately.
The recent title I follow dutifully are: Kakumeiki no Valvrave Season 2, Log Horizon, and Gingitsune.
Gingitsune is similar to Natsume Yuujinchou though NY is definitely better
Log Horizon is like SAO wannabe at the first few episodes but I still find it enjoyable, especially later episodes...I kinda dislike the voice actor though. The main character's voice is rather flat  :woohehe:

I tend to be put off if the voice actor isn't any good...

thanks to Shineshan <3

Vauxhall

Huh, I never notice if the voice actor is good or not... But that's probably because I watch mainstream anime a lot and those are generally pretty good. Er... but then, maybe I do notice subconsciously and I just ignore it to stick around for the art. xD
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.

Angel~

That's possible, but I prefer manga anyway.

Manga's good and all but there's no manga for some anime >_<

Yeah!! Like Hagaren! The first anime's ending is...bad. Good thing though, they remade it into brotherhood. At least it follows manga's ending, so I'm not so disappointed  :=D:

Btw, is it just my imagination or baseball manga/anime is booming? I see at least 1 title every year <_<

I suggest you all watch Ristorante Paradiso
It was like a 2010 anime, i think. Well most of the reviews are from 2012. But other than that, it has the antique bakery feeling except it's not yaoi! Each of the characters has its own past and romances, it's pretty amazing. And dear god, I love the main character. She's pretty amazing gal to be able to keep up all this stuff :D.
