Mmm... I don't know, I've read many mangas... and many were just perfect!  Others, well... were just horrible to read!  :omg: Boring too. Maybe, I really liked Meru Puri or Backstage Prince... and Black Bird! ^^

werr

Probably Liar Game. The concept was interesting, fascinating even, and the plot had that 'smart' feeling to it.

Ayro

Liar Game would be the only one I've come across, it's somewhat interesting and arduous to predict.
Bakuman very nearly makes this category, but it has gone downhill...
You were right about me being wrong and wrong about you being right.

A lot of mangas have good plots and art at the beginning, but the longer they become usually the authors lose focus (like, procrastination I guess?)  >:(

first parts of Inuyasha !!!
Anatolia Story
Legend of Nereid [yaaa they are VERY old]

Newer Chinese manhuas:
Billion Princess
Real Fake Princess
Divine Melody --> the project I'm translating XD
Spirit of the Ocean (not yet translated :O)

Translating Spirit of the Ocean ch 19
Translating Black Bird ch 48

Dia

Yes, you are right... authors lose focus!  >:(... OH! I'm currently reading Anatolia Story, I like it!)  Also, sometimes you are not able to keep up with the story because you have to wait too long for updates!!! (that is the case of Vampire Knight! I hate to read it because I spend hours trying to remember what happened in the last chapter!!!)  >:(

BleachFreak

For some reason, anything Gender Bender that has comedy like 1/2 Prince, Girl Got Game (Power!) and Ouran High School Host Club, or anything supernatural like Bleach interests me more than others

yama-chan

I like those plots that are so weird and twisted (mostly with blood and gore Woohoo!). So an amazing manga is "Doubt", it's really freaky but is really good!
I don't really like cliche  shoujo manga that goes for long period of time. (like S.A) Argh! However, if the plot is unexpected and it blends with shoujo, I'll like it. Maybe something like Heart To Kuni Alice and maybe Medeka Box(if that's shoujo)?

Sharwin

Shin Angyo Onshi
Death Note (First half)
Team Medical Dragon
Shoujo Fight
Hikaru no Go
Pretty Face
Mx0 (Though it got unpopular and got a some quick ending)
Ibara no Ou
Zetman
Ubell Blatt

These are probably out of my list of 500 something complete/ongoing manga, are probably my picks as overall solid. That means I feel it had a solid plot, characters and just good overall design. As you can see, I'm not really a heavy shoujo reader xD.

1 - It was great. The main girl was great :D But the ending was... how do I say it... disappointing?
2 - I think the second half was good too, after all, he deserves to die.
6 - I tried to read it, but only managed the first and last chapter. Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious, but I don't like that type of manga where there is no plot or love development.
7 - The ending was really absurd. It was like their studio burned to the ground in one night and they had to drop the project.

Other manga I like would be Superior, Gantz (not really for the ladies here...), Hana Yori Dango and Video Girl Ai (an old classic, really good old classic)

1. I thought the ending was a little disappointing when I first read it, but I think overtime it's kind of sunk into me and I kind of enjoy it now xD.
2. The second half was good (as in better then most manga out there), but I just didn't like how the main character seem to become 'dumb' all of a sudden. I didn't think it had the same intellectual level and planning as the first half.
6. Hahaha, I'm sort of a sucker for gender benders (male -> female). Though probably looking back, wouldn't classify it as my all time perfect favourites, but it was a good read (one of the better gender benders at least D;)
7. Yeah... The series got canceled and the author had to end it in like 2 chapters or something.

I liked the first opening of Superior, but then I kind of lost interest in it (still finished it). I've read Gantz but not fully caught up (300ish somewhere I think). It's a good read, but not one of my favourites, I'd prefer something more a long the lines of Berserk. I have Video Girl Ai on my to read list, just haven't got around to it.

Though if anyone likes gender benders (male -> female), one of my personal favourites is Yubisaki Milk Tea. Though what's interesting is I like because I hate it (It'll probably make sense a little if you've read it). It's probably one of first one that really deals well with the mentality of main character as he plays his male role and then cross dresses and pretends to be a girl.

Ohhhhhh that reminds me of some other ones that I really like as well:
My Girl (SAHARA Mizu) (I just love the tone in this manga)
Tokage (Omg I listed a non-shounen/seinen for once :O)

Anything to do with history. (I'm a history junkie) My faves always have something to do with history. Anatolia Story and Divine Melody are masterpieces in my opinion. Historical mangas are just so much fun. List: Divine Melody, Pearl Grudge, Anatolia Story, Tale of Genji, manga from the 70s, Count Cain, etc.

I never understood how people can like historical themes... I dislike it, no matter if it is an anime, a manga, a movie or a book, the historical theme is something that can never appeal to me. XD

icewing

Historical themes are sometimes good, but rarely.
The first historical manga that i read wasa Mademoiselle Butterfly. the drawing was so good and the storyline was so touching . I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S RANKED SO BAD  ( in the 700 s  on onemanga )!!!!!!!! hm...maybe it's because it's...finished?

Furgeson

Mademoiselle Butterfly was sad in a REALLY mushy way. It got licensed *feels sad.
I love tragedies.

If you want to break this world
Dokuhime
I know that the cicada cry thing (anime, sowwy) was very interesting in a
*cowers in the corner. Scary... nightmarish thing.
And Darker than Black, was, too. Phantom left me feeling QUITE dead.
Rouge et Noir
HanaTsukiHime was a tearjerker.
Kuroshitsuji, believe it or not, made me sob a little.
But I ussually just read a lot of oneshots.
LUUUUURRRRRVE~

icewing

ok. i will NEVA read DOKUHIME AGAIN.   :noway:THE DRAWINGS...ARE SOOOOOOOOO BAD. hm....i should pick up kuroshitsuji again.
Darker than black....the drawings aren't that good either. and the plot is a little boring. rouge et noir....wasn't that the really smutty one?

I've been reading some things~ Like Kuroshitsuji, Soul Eater, and Little Shop of Horrors~! Ooh, I just love that one ^^

Fairth

Heu.... Basara, I think. I felt manipulated and tortured throughout all the volumes -_-"

It's the only one I can read and read again without getting bored !!!!  (But it has nothing exceptional, and the drawings are awful. Very old serie, but I fell for it xD )

tinnako

I like lots of different types of manga. There's the cliche shonen or shoujo that you love despite how mainstream they are (I'm looking at you, Naruto!), and then there's the more offbeat series. For me, something like Emma (The one about the Victorian maid), or Mushishi, or Natsume Yuujinchou, or Chihayafuru or Wandering Son are much more memorable than Naruto because of their slightly more reflective, meaningful contents. For me, fascinating is something that means the series left its mark and introduced you to something you didn't think you would find in manga, and all of the above did that for me. Though I still have a place in my heart for all the big, action-packed or soppy romance series I read, too. I'm just aware that we get different things from different series :)
