Because I disappearS to procrastinateS.

So your korean by birth? Most people wouldn't try to learn korean simply because its impractical. English because it is practical, being as half the world, and counting, knows it.
You were right about me being wrong and wrong about you being right.

Hey!  :omg: Korean language is not impractical! People that don't take much interest in us Koreans just don't seem to bother try learning our language......  T___T

But it's not impractical, and we Koreans take pride in our culture and language!

xdeathcat

Agree~ I'm interest in Korean because I can't read what's on the cup noodle packaging. Japanese cup ramen ish too expensive. :wahaha:

Haha of course what I meant was that mostly only koreans know the korean language, so the only reasons you might learn it is if you were fascinated with it or you were moving there =P
You were right about me being wrong and wrong about you being right.

Not necessarily.... Whites living in America Town over in South Korea are able to speak Korean too

I said unless you were moving there........ which would include moved.
You were right about me being wrong and wrong about you being right.

BleachFreak

Surprisingly, not necessarily. My parents showed me this one documentary, and even the parents of the white people that are not even living in Korea that barely visits Korea actually speaks Korean. Even Scottish people, considering they don't even live in Korea

Ayro

You were right about me being wrong and wrong about you being right.

BleachFreak

Actually, surprisingly, no. They just learn Korean for no reason whatsoever.

Zephyr_of_the_Mist

hi! I'm new here too, a QCer, so maybe I'll be checking your work ^.^  Welcome aboard!

gummybear

okay thank you and guys thnx for deciding on a topic to debate about but i hope it doesnt turn into a fight  :swt: hahaha btw yes i AM korean by birth and maybe some people just learn it because they want to *^^* im not taking any sides cuz i dont want it to turn into a fight but it is a fun language to learn! my friends crowd over me going "teach me korean angelalalalalala" X)

mee-ahn-ha-dah~

just had to keep replying since it does tend to annoy me when others say Korean culture/language is not somewhat pointless or what not especially after having been born and raised a korean for past 19/20 years.

but yeah.... oh-reh-it-suh-rang~!

gummybear

Not somewhat pointless? There goes your "pride"
I didn't mean it was pointless though. After all, if you live in America (or anywhere besides korea) you can talk to your foreign friends without anyone else having a clue what your saying (besides, of course, the people who love to learn foreign languages for no reason), easy for creating rumors and such, if your into that =P
But yeah, I had to keep replying because she kept ignoring parts of my replies, which forced me to clarify myself. I will gladly change my mind about nearly anything if you can simply present a valid and convincing argument against what I believe to be true.

=____=llll I meant people thinking that so I'm not throwing my pride away. I would agree it's pointless IF I didn't get a job for being a Korean or for being able to speak Korean since I got a job as a ESL teacher at my school over the summer

Ayro

Haha in your post you said you were annoyed with the people who thought it wasn't even somewhat pointless =P
