:hi:   so, um.. I was wondering if you guys would be so kind as to watch/listen to this little clip I made of me singing. You are under no obligation to do so, but i'd really appreciate it if you would. Please and Thank you   :bye:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2B8TD5Zzm4

i love carrie but idk the original song :O you should look into singing over an instrumental version of the song! also the mic quality isn't the best so i can't really tell what you're enunciating T_T

Arr-chan

Sorry, my other mic broke. I got so mad  :fliptable: I haven't really tried anything with the music, but I guess I should.

sleepyviolets

yeah! it could probably help when you're trying to make sure you're on key or whatnot for the whole thing ^^ since most people don't have perfect pitch and have to work on relative pitch haha

Arr-chan

well, the key doesn't really matter all that much because everyone's voice is different. It also depends on what type of voice a person has. There's Alto, Soprano, Tenor, bass, and then there are different types in between. The music helps to stay in rhythm though. It also makes the song itself more interesting.  :bingo:

sleepyviolets

ehhh idk about "the key doesn't really matter all that much" -- some people try cheating when they sing (and by cheating, i mean randomly changing key in the middle of the song when it's not called for)! and that's what really ticks me off because i'm very particular about pitch...

but you can always tweaking the key of the instrumental to something comfortable for your voice for the entire duration of the song. i've done it a few times with a program called audacity hehe, it's a lot of fun to use

tbh i'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to music stuff which is why precious few of my friends will come to me for music critique xD

Arr-chan

Well, I try to stay as close to the original song as possible while putting my own spin on it. I can understand your frustration. There are some people who completely change the arrangement of a song and most times it is not the best idea. As for critique, I welcome it. If I know what I am doing wrong I can learn to change that. I can only get better. So, you may critique away  :bingo:

sleepyviolets

gimme a cover with an instrumental or something that i'll recognize and i'll go for it hahaha ^^

Zephyr of the Mist

Needs better sound... I can't tell anything other than you're on tune.

I'll use my other mic to re-record it and then I'll post it here. The background music is going to have to wait until I can use my main computer again (i'm supposed to be grounded  :woohehe: ) so that I can download the music I need. I will do it soon though I promise  :shy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVrBfGiwOVU          There's the re-done one with my other mic. WHOO I think it sounds much better. I really don't like the squealing noise I get with the one on my laptop  :haix: sometimes it really really annoys me.

That's okay. I agree with that. I did this song sitting down (I shouldn't have done that :haix:) But thank you for watching it :shy:
