that disappointing feel when you're waiting for something to come and you're checking your inbox/email/etc every hour and its not there...  :=X:

I'm at that point now. I applied to be a PR so I'm like "Has anyone responded yet?  :wahaha:" *checks email* "awww. :touched: "

{tens minutes later}
"Has anyone responded yet?  :wahaha:" *checks email* "awww. :touched: "

:=X:

So, that leads me to my next questions, Are you waiting anxiously for anything, if so, what?  :goodmood:

Oh yes I do...
My BA thesis is being graded at the moment and the two months in which my prof has to come to a decision are nearly over. It's really awful, because someone told me, the longer they take, the worse the grade will be (he said: "only the really good ones and the ones that didn't pass are graded quickly, the average and rather bad one take the longest."
So I'm hoping that I passed, because it takes my teacher so long, but still... I'm nervous^^
It could of course also be due to bureaucracy, because teachers are not allowed to tell the students their marks directly, they need to go through a kind of examinations office ( that should be the literal translation, I don't know the English technical term) first.
I absolutely hate it!
And I'm fairly sure, at least I hope, Roze, that your mail will arrive faster  :=X: With my QC application, everyone was really quick and kind^^

verdandi

Ahhhh yes, I know this feeling, Roze.  It seems like I spend most of my life waiting for some news, or for someone to give me something I need, or for a client to pay me for work I've done....

But! I finally got something I've been waiting for! After being unemployed since January, my husband was finally offered a job yesterday.  *happy dance*  So wait long enough and you eventually get what you want lol.

Yayy! That's very good new Verdani! I'm happy for you and your husband.

And Lampi good luck on your thesis paper. I hope you do well. Maybe he takes so long cuz it's just that awesome? :p

That's so wierd your teachers cannot tell you your grades.  ??? Whats the point of a teacher then? o.o; I mean they're suppose to teach you and help you if you're not doing well but if they can't tell you you're not doing well then how they heck are they suppose to help?

Overseas schools confuse me. Where are you from again?  :=X:

Oh and also I got my PR testing package yesterday! Yayyyyy!  I hope I do well on it so I can help out all the lovely PRs here <3

Congrats, Verdandi, great news!^^

Thanks, Roze, I hope so too...  :=X:
I'm from Germany, and usually it isn't as strange here as it is with my thesis. It's just an extra level of strangeness because it's the final grade and more important than the rest, Everyone thinks it's stupid, too, but it's a rule... A teacher once told me that they are not evern allowed to say whether someone passed or not, they use a trick and make some really positive comment about the weater or basically anything when talking to the student. It's really strange, ist't it?

It's really cool that you're joining as a PR as well!  :goodjob: I hope you have a lot of fun with the new chapters^^

Angel~

Roze dear!
My future fellow PR!
I'm so happy that you will join me on this path~

I'm sure you will do a great job (maybe even better than me... *insecure*)

And I hope you will get a good mark on your thesis Lampi, I'm sure you worked hard enough (:
And it's strange that they don't tell you, is this the final high-school exams? (where are you in education? :S) Because then it is the same as in The Netherlands (yay neighbour)

And Verdani, congrats!

Anxiously waiting... All the time, usually when it's important to me xD Right now I can't wait for the movie The Hobbit to come out... I just need to see it! Just a couple more weeks...

thanks to Shineshan <3

Lampi

You also want to go see the Hobbit? I'm sooooo looking forward to that movie, I'm a huge Tolkien fan^^
I really hope that it will be good, and not too drawn out ( not really sure whether three films are really necessary... but I want to be convinced XD) But what I've seen so far is really exiting!

Well, I'm done with high school already (luckily^^), the thesis is for a university degree - but in our schools, it's the same as in yours, I think. Final grades are always given a few weeks after the exams after several teachers have graded them, and it's all very official. I'm just happy they don't do that for oral exams as well ( I nearly died after my final, I was so tense...), for those teachers can tell our grades just a few minutes after the test.

Angel~

Yes, I was wondering the same thing... (3 films might be milking it a tad too much)
But at least the trailer looks awesome, did you also see the logs Peter Jackson made while shooting The Hobbit?

Righty... *feels like she is the only high-school student around...*
What did you study? Ahh, I'm glad they didn't make you wait for your oral!

thanks to Shineshan <3

Lampi

Why don't you start thinking of yourself as the only young person among old people? That must be better than just being the only high school student XDD
(Even though I'm not that old^^)

I studied English and French, and I'm now taking translation classes.

I've only seen the trailer yet, but if you say the logs are good as well, I'll check them out too. It's just so mean that there are already all these Hobbit fan books and stuff in the shops, and I'm broke, makes me wait anxiously for something else : payday XDDD

`Roze`

I know my step-dad was a fan of The Hobbit. I think I saw the older movie and it was okay. I'm not too much into but I'm sure my boyfriend will want to watch it so we'll end up renting it when it comes out. (Or my parents will rent and we'll borrow it ;3)

And Angel~ Don't feel too bad ~technically~ I'm still in Highschool just taking College classes at a college (University for you?) that both qualify as HS and College credits.

Forgive me, how old are you again Angel?

And I really cannot wait to the join the PR team too! It'll be so much fun to have my Angel as my higher class men. I shall look up to you for knowledge and skills and hope you may bestoy some them upon me!

Thanks, everyone!

I want to see The Hobbit too!!! December 19th is our 4-year anniversary, so I'm hoping The Grump (my husband) will take me to see it.  He's really interested too, so the odds are good!

Angel, you ARE young.  All you youngin's make me feel old.  I'll be 28 in two months! BLARGH! :noway:

If you put it like that Lampi... I'd get the feeling of a toddler... I considered having English as my back-up plan, but I decided against it, since it was not all that after all... My dream is the English medicine stream! (not just because it is easier for me to get in with my English diploma's)

Haha, I'm 16 Roze dear. Do you know what you want to study yet?
It doesn't have to be an university if you put it in my country's system. We have three different levels in accordance with your intelligence, the mbo (no idea what English/Amarican equivalent would be) the hbo (that would be something like college, but then again not really) and you have university level. University level is academic level. In high school there are also three levels of education according to intelligence tested at age 12, before you go to high school. It depends on what level of education you got in high school what kind of things you can study. You can study at your own level, or below it. But you can not study above your level, simply because you miss the right education. You can graduate high school at, for example the middle level, and decide you want to get thr highest level as well. You have to have graduated with good grades and then you are allowed to move on.
That's the Dutch school system in short, I hope it's not too confusing xD

Haha I'm so happy that my Rozey is joining me!!! If you don't understand something, feel free to ask, I am not a native speaker though, so I am not full-proof xD

I'm late, but Congratulations on your aniversary Verdani!!! *throws confetti and glitter*
Did you see it yet? I'm going to soon! Yay!!!
Don't worry too much verdani! I think it is amazing that you still have this passion for manga and that you are around here! I hope I will also be like that when I turn 28  :goodjob:
And think about it: women become about 90 these days, so you have still a LONGGGG way to go, enjoy it!

thanks to Shineshan <3

verdandi

Thank you, thank you! We have two anniversaries because we got married in May of this year but I didn't want to give up celebrating the day we met in person (we originally met online).  So we decided to celebrate 12/19 AND 5/19 every year.  Especially since the day we met had a lot more fanfare than the day we married.

Yes, I am an old lady but I love shoujo manga like a high school girl.   *skip I will be the little old lady sitting in her rocker reading manga on my kindle or whatever they have by then lol.

Hehe, sounds really interesting!  :woohehe:

As long as the sentiment is the same for all of us, age doesn't matter right?  *skip I will most likely end up the same way as you, but I still love my papercopies to heaven~ I can't imagine how big my collection would be by then!  :wahaha: addicting all the grandkids...
