Angel~

I'm trying to find a good drawing pad for the computer, but I have no idea which ones are good or the prices...

Could all the great people who own one out there help me?  :o_o:

Thank you in advance!!  :touched:

You're going to get a tablet?
I don't think I can help very much (as I don't have one myself)...
But I've always wanted one- you're so lucky :D

I think Wacom is a good brand... but don't take my word for it, lol ^^

Haha... my Kpop obsession cannot be hidden *U*

Harrstein

hmmm wacom is the brand to go for.

problem is you want a big one and those are expensive.

*me has a small a5 sized one lying around, and hates it with a passion
Everything fits with a hammer. If not, grab a bigger hammer

I have Wacom Bamboo and really satisfied with it. ^^

Aurelia

I have friends who use their iPad, and just buy a stylus for it... but I'm not too experienced in this kind of thing. XD

...And there go my fishbots! Thank you Rioui Poo~! *hugs*

Angel~

Wah thank you guys!!
I will look into it and hope my parents will buy it for me... (or else attempt the impossible: save money myself...)

It depends on how much you want to use it my dear wifey. If it's just an occasional thing then you'd probably want to go with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CTL460-Bamboo-Pen-Tablet/dp/B002OOWC3I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1350867747&sr=8-3&keywords=wacom+bamboo+pen

I'd do a lot of looking around on the pen if you get it because 2 years ago I bought it at BestBuy for 80 dollars.

But if you're really into art and would draw/etc a lot I would get this one: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Bamboo-Create-Tablet-CTH670/dp/B005HGBF9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350867807&sr=8-1&keywords=wacom+bamboo+create

I started out with that first one I showed you and had it for two years. It was very decent and good!  I didn't have any troubles with it until my sisters rolled over the cord and broke it so it wouldn't work. =.=;

But my elder sister got me the Create and that's what I use now and I absolutely adore it.  It was deff worth the money but only if you're going to use it quite a bit! Has lots of useful features on it. Like the buttons on the tablet you can set to any hots key for anything. I set my buttons to thing I use in Photoshop a lot. The pen is also a lot 'softer' and so is the surface of the tablet. The Bamboo Pen is like holding hard plastic and it would hurt my fingers after using it for too long. There's also a lot more room on the Create and it has better pen pressurization.

I have a Wacom Bamboo as well. It's pretty good and... well... it's not that expensive, I don't think. :) I paid for it myself.

Hahaha, it is not too expensive, but I'm really bad with money... [Comes in, goes out]

Personally, the cheap ones are never actually good at all.
Everytime I buy cheap ones [anything], they break so goddam easily.
anyways, for drawing pads, well; the one we use in school; are these
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823166085&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-NA-_-NA <--that one we use it in business for some goddam reason.
While in art we have this one -> https://www.google.com/shopping/product/8327539209298228716?q=drawing%20pad&hl=en&biw=1024&bih=659&safe=high&sa=X&ei=c6ihUKDIFsa22gW534GgBA&ved=0CMABEPMCMAU4Rg

Waaaahh, now I don't know which one I should get!!
:noway:
Well, I guess I'll go with Eenymeenymineymo? ???

I'd go with any of the Bamboo tablets because they come with better programs. My create came with PS Element 9 and a bunch of cool other free stuff. The Pen Tablet came with Elements 7 or 8 and Coral Painter or something.

I don't know really I guess. I'd do a lot of price checking, specs checking, and program checking when you're comparing tablets! I've always had really good luck with Wacom Bamboo and so have my friends. And the create you can get a wireless adapter for it. It's like 30 dollars or something. Plus the cord is detachable so it's easy to store or if the cord breaks or need a longer cord it's easy to replace. I think its just a standard USB cord too.

I've seen good reviews on these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10841 and they're cheap but I've never used them myself.

I own a wacom bamboo and never really had any problems with it. The pen survived after my dog stole it and chewed the end of it up so it's defiantly durable.

Angel~

The Wacom Bamboo sounds the best for my purpose with it so far (:
I won't be using it all the time, since I just lack time x'D
But I still want a good one.

Thank you all for the great advice!

Oh another good one that comes with a good program and is decently professional would be the capture and that is only 100 dollars. It's a little bit smaller but it's still really nice! I'm not sure what version of Elements it comes with. But that one is only $100 USD dollars. The cord is detachable, and there is a wireless kit you can get for it.

I have a Wacom Bamboo and it does exactly what it says on the tin. I think I got it on Amazon when it was on sale, too, so it really was a bargain at the time.

I think with Tablets, you get what you pay for, but because the really good ones are SO expensive, it might be worth getting a cheaper one at first to see if you will actually like using them. (Case in point: I haven't used mine much because I remain a traditional media kinda girl, so I'm glad I didn't spend $$$$$ on something I wouldn't use and then felt really guilty).

I do also recommend taking the time once you get it to really get familiar with the tablet, as well as using it with software. My Wacom came with Artrage free, and I have a couple of other free programs such as Autodesk SketchBook Copic edition and GIMP to test it out on. So don't forget to get some software to go with it! Like I said, it needn't be expensive software.

Out of paid software, I have experience with Photoshop, but I hear a lot of digital artists prefer Painter. I think they're both $$$ if you buy them legally, so it's OK if you can't afford fancy software. Likewise, if you mainly want to draw your own manga, MangaStudio is actually a lot cheaper, meaning you could buy it legally for a decent price. The newer and deluxe versions are expensive, but the 2009 version is £20 legally so a real bargain. Actually, might have to get a hold of that, myself, for if I ever resurrect my old comic  :hmmm:

(Thread necromancy because tablets are always relevant to us digital artists, a category I include scanlators in)
