Forum Karma/Reputation

So tell me, my dears...

What do you think about karma/reputation points on the forum?
Is it important/unimportant do you? Do you judge a person by how much they have? Are you offended when someone takes one away by saying "Lame!"? Have you ever given karma/rep before? Did you even know it existed before reading this thread? XD
And, most importantly, will you do favors to gain more? :)
