Anime/Manga Blogs? What do you think?

Ahoy, I'm new to the Transcendence forum, but I had question for everyone.
Are anime and manga blogs still popular? I know they were a few years ago, but I heard there has been a decrease in their popularity within the last few years... Does anyone still read them and have any recommendations for a good one to start following? It seems like it would be fun and I'm thinking about starting one, but I don't know if it's worth the time or if anyone will actually read it, you know?

I suppose I'm not an avid blog reader, so I wouldn't know, but I just read a killer analysis of Phantom: Requiem of the Phantom.
It was absolutely-fucking-amazing. Props to the writer!   
But yup! There's definitely been a decrease in popularity (sadly)

Well they are ok... and since when did they announce a second season of Maid-sama? O.o

I can't believe they made a second season of Kimi Ni Todoke.
Probably the most boring and cliche shoujo anime in the book, and they just have to continue it.
I can't even stand watching it T.T (which doesnt say much b/c i can't stand shoujo anime anyway XD)

the OST and EST both show the future (from the manga) xD
