Let's start a new one, with Studio Ghibli films. Love them or hate them? And if you hate'em, which ones, why, and  who the fuck do you think you are???? :vomit:
Like:
1.Princess Mononoke-It's a great moral, good animation, an engaging story, and just mystical enough to catch my attention.
2. Howl's Moving Castle- Read the books, loved the books. Watched the movies, fell in love even more.
3. Kiki's Delivery Service- What's not to love.

I love Ghibli Studios because it opens up the american eyesight into some awesome children's anime movies.

Love.

Brings back memories of Japanese class.

A MILLION THUMBS UP.

I rewatched "My Neighbor Totoro" the other day... I was squealing the whole time 'cuz it was just too dang cute!
And, oh, the memories. I remember being a little squirt and watching Totoro in the basement on the old TV that has a tuning dial.

And I really wanna rewatch "Spirited Away" sometime soon. The symbolism in that movie is brilliant.  :donwan:

I am absolutely in love with Studio Ghibli. I just watched "Howl's Moving Castle" last night. I love it!!!  :o_o:

I'm going to attempt to write down my favorite movies in order (most of them are tied, though):

1. Howl's Moving Castle
2. My Neighbor Totoro
3. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
4. Spirited Away
5. Ponyo
6. Castle in the Sky
7. Princess Mononoke
8. Secret World of Arrietty
9. All the rest are kind of tied down here....

I know Arrietty is on my list, even though it hasn't come out in the US yet, but I've seen it in Japanese, and I really liked it. I can't wait to see the US English version, with Carol Burnett as a Human "Bean".

Ryu

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the first four and number six!!!

I saw the advertisement for Arietty when I went to watch Happy Feet 2 -- It. Looks. AWESOME!!!

Teehee. My friend was over yesterday and said to me that sometime this semester we're going to have to get together and have a Miyazaki marathon.  *skip
We'll only be able to watch six, because that's all I've got (I have Howl's Moving Castle, Sprited Away, Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa, and Ponyo), unless she has more. But I'm way excited. We're also going to see Arrietty when it comes out (Feb 17!!!!!!!  )!!!!

Btw, has anybody seen Tales From Earthsea? I heard it was done by Miyazaki's son, Goro Miyazaki, and that Miyazaki Sr. told Jr. that he wasn't ready to direct a movie. Sure enough, the movie earned Worst Movie of the Year. I saw it and thought it was okay, but very forgettable :noway:, which is NOT keeping up the Miyazaki legacy. But apparently he didn't do too poorly, because I just looked on Wikipedia, and it says he directed the new From Up On Poppy Hill, which was released in Japan this July, and that one didn't do too bad at all. Maybe it's because Miyazaki Sr. wrote it.... :bingo:
Anyways, I haven't seen that one yet, but I look forward to it!

Ryu

Oh ho.
Well, I'm rooting for Mr. Goro Miyazaki.  :goodjob:
