Alright, now let's keep this one civil... I personally orefer the original FMA anime to the new one. I like the animation better, and I liked the story. I'm not saying that Brotherhood sux, i just dont like the mangas storyline as much. Thoughts? Rebuttles? :o_o: (plz dont kill me...)

Furgeson

I've found FMA much more compelling than FMAb. I personally appreciated watching FMA more...
It's plot twists were much more of a joy ride.
Tho I know Charm thinks differently.

FMAB! i like FMAB's storyline more... maybe i'd say otherwise when it ends but as of now i still like it more.

as for FMA, i think the animation is kind of on par with FMAB, though i till like FMAB's animation a little bit more. xD

but eh. i love both shows. it's just which one more.
though at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter as long as Roy Mustang doesn't die. xD

FMA was great in that it had it's own story separate from the manga.
I really liked FMA:B though because some of the fights in the manga I loved seeing animated.
There's no such thing as a bad idea... Just poorly executed awesome ones.

Sharwin

I only watched the original FMA and have read the manga.

Original was okay, but I really didn't like a few of the things they changed. In particular the way Greed dies in FMA compared to the manga.

However at the same time, I didn't really like where the manga direction went either up to a certain point.

Plus FMA blows for killing off the only character I had interest for, Lust, SO EARLY ON. Stupid Mustang.

Kaoru

I prefer FMA.B rather than the original FMA, and I'm saying this after I've watched both anime~  :bingo:
In FMA, there's a lot of loopholes and FMA.B however, provides complete and acceptable(?) explanations for what's been going on. I like the longer, more complicated and challenging world of the FMA.B!  :goodjob:

Arya

Bleh, Im kinda on the fence with FMA vs FMA:B vs the manga? ^^;;;;

I liked FMA because it exposed a lot of the gore FMA:B didnt - such as in the truth behind Lab 5 and Ed's decision(s) when he was there.  In FMA:B they kinda completely cut that bit out (at least from memory, I'm pretty sure they did). FMA:B just watered down the gore and violence that was in FMA - not that I'm a glutton for gore, but it's a heavy story and plot so I think they're justified in showing it how it is.

But then again, that's also what made FMA:B good. It had a buncha chibi moments in it that were really funny - especially between Mustang and Ed and Mustang and Hawkeye. I looooved it.

FMA:B also showed more of the story from the manga and went into better details about what was going on, which was a plus for me. Like with Armstrong's sister - wow were they different people in FMA and FMA:B - hahaha! (trying not to give too many spoilers here ^^;;;)

Personally, I think I prefer the manga most though - because it reveals the story exactly as the mangaka intended it to be. And the anime originates from this source. So yea, if you wanna know what's really up with a story, you hafta read the manga.

Overall, I think all three of these were equally good if you judge them on an individual basis and not in comparison to each other. I liked how they kept the art and the voices (reasonably) the same in the anime so it at least carried over in a more believable fashion, rather than trying to make something completely different up like they did with "X". So, as a fan, I wasn't upset with the creators re-releasing another FMA to extend and patch the story to get it closer to the manga - as I take it - was the initial goal for Brotherhood.

Melancholic

FMA:B Followed the manga so much more closer than FMA did.

Shiki

To all you FMA:B fans, a movie is coming your way during summer ^^

Privilege is the greatest enemy of right.

Ryu

I can't really say which I prefer...but I totally loved the end of FMA (for some odd reason)! And then the movie...  :o_o:
It was awesome!

But it is true that FMA:B followed the manga very closely, and I appreciate that a lot. Keep it canon, I say!

Yeah, I heard about the movie!   Excited~
Unfortunately, I have no idea what it could possibly be about, even with the trailers out. =_= Anyone know?

Ho~ I see.  :goodjob:
Thank you, Shiki! That helped out a bit.

I have to say I prefer FMA:B; because I'm glad that Al remembers Ed at the end and that they can be together.
FMA; well I still like. But there's something missing about it that makes FMA:B much better.

FMA:B.

The reason is: I hated the end of FMA.
What was with going to earth etc...  >:(

Oh I agree. I was very wanting at the ending of FMA and the movie didn't help solve anything further, either, in my opinion. It still left so much gaped.

FMA:B's ending felt a lot more complete and satisfying.

Iteza

Just now finished watching FMB and I have to say that I prefer it over FMA because of the story (it felt more... complete and logical)  and of course because of the ending (loved the EdxWinry ending XD). The only thing that I liked more about FMA is the music.

Angel~

Only ever watched FMA...  :swt:

thanks to Shineshan <3

`Roze`

Well, FMA wasn't necessarily bad. It was okay. If you didn't read the manga at all it was fine. But FMA:B was MUCH better. Not only did it stick to the original manga WAAAY better it also introduced lots of new characters (that were in the manga) and showed the characters mature and change. Like if I remember correctly, there's one point where it shows Ed finally is taller then Winry. Haha xD
