Here is what you should pay attention to:

-The translations are clear and understandable (so that the typesetter knows where to put what)

-The NAMES and TERMS correspond to the NAME LIST, found under each project.

- Make sure that each time that you change something, There is always a complete copy of the correct translations for the editors to download. (which means, do not just write our changes seperatly, change it from the document).

-Save your translations in a text file. (*.doc, *.rfl, etc) Please NO .docx (Microsoft Office 2007)

Cinese translator tools:

http://www.4shared.com/file/6hV2PU-M/wenlin.htm

www.nciku.com

They are both dictionaries. Wenlin is a good all purpose dictionary, but Nciku has a better character recognition tool. Usually, I use nciku to find out a characters pinyin, and then type it into wenlin. I strongly reccommend them both. :bingo:

BTW, for those who never used wenlin before, an umlaut "u" is typed as "v" for convenience. so instead of ju, it will be jv. If thatmakes any sense. ??? *head spins from sleep deprivation*

It's mainly written for Chinese translators but other translators can take a look as well (:

Hope this helped!

CHINESE CHARACTER --> ENGLISH

use the first link (you draw the character with your mouse), then input into the second link to get a meaning. Other useful links also included there.

Also you can always ask someone - the hardest part is making a Name / Proper noun list.

Kanji is the chinese-ish characters. Hiragana is the Japanese scribbles. Katakana is the Japanese scribbles for non-Japanese words. Romaji is Romanised Japanese, basically the pronunciation.

The link to the WenLin dictionary is no longer valid. Is there an updated one?
