B/c I'm flooding the Absence notice forum,
I'm here to say that my heavy duty traveling with a lappy
and questionable wifi is starting. 

Oh well.
Has anyone been to Hong Kong or TaiWan?
Any experience, tourist attractions, food, good places to shop?
And what the hell do they speak there? Besides english. And cantonese.

Try to go to the night markets--cheap good food and cheap China ripoffs.

This is a super late update, but my stay in Hong Kong was simply lovely! The shopping was fun, the city was beautiful, the weather fabulous (though it did rain later in the trip, the first two days couldn't have been better)
Plus, I got to stay at a hotel next to the Harbour with a great view...and best of all, much looser firewalls! Goodness, that was a relief after a month in mainland China, the People's Republic of Internet Censorship.

aaaaand HK is my life, my entirety, the only reason i live~~~~~ (ok slight hyperbole but oh well) I loveeeeee HK My home! My family! The food! The places! The shops!
