Angel~

I have to write an essay about those two novels and about their messages.

I have trouble phrasing the messages, so if anyone could offer some help?

Thank you so much!

thanks to Shineshan <3

I have not read "Things Fall Apart," but I have read "The Color Purple."  The main message is for women to find strength within themselves and each other.  All of them are in some way beaten down and held back by men, and by bolstering each other up rather than competing against one another, they prove a capability and strength greater than the men in their lives.

It is all about equality between men and women, as much if not more than between blacks and whites.  Race, while a major theme, isn't the main one - women finding power within themselves and each other is.

You're welcome! I'm usually pretty good at essays, and really like analyzing books.   *skip
