I don't remember the surgery since I had full anesthetic. They put the IV in and give you the anesthetic through there. You just kinda slip away and later you wake up all done with the surgery. They made 4 holes in my knee to go in with some tools and a camera. They inspected all the things in my knee and then cut away the torn part of my meniscus. They also made a cut in the cyste and squeezed it all out. Bandages around it and I was good to go.

Hoooo, that sounds pretty cool. They made four holes in your knee to poke around! Imagine waking up midway. There are plenty of stories about people waking up mid-operation. :O

@Vally, with these kinds of sur geries they usually give spinal anasthetic, so then you are awake. I was just not pleased with the fact that you could get paralised if they didn't do it correctly.

That's why I went full anesthetic. I didn't want to risk that! All went well for me :D

Full means you basically black out and sleep. Spinal means that they only knock out your legs. Basically everything below your waist. You are awake then. Furthermore, they put the full anesthetic in your blood directly and the spinal goed into your spinal cord with a big ass needle.

I guess since you don't have to be knocked out, which scares people as well. As for me, the risk of getting paralyzed and that big ass needle made me prefer the other method. I already had gotten the full anesthetic before, so I knew that that was nothing to be scared of.

How's your knee nowadays? Are you able to run around now?

Hahaha, taking an interest is also building towards my future as a doctor ^^
It is better now, I can walk around sorta without my crutches, but I do need them when venturing outside. I look forward to running. It will be the first time in about 6 years *0* I loved running so I'm so excited to take a sprint without pain!

I hope you can start running soon. I'm a track athlete so I can never imagine that being taken from me.
And ooooh, what kind of doctor? I always thought that surgeons have the best job, but that's probably because I watch too much medical television. xD

I used to play field hockey and I swam, so I hated having that taken from me.
I don't know yet, I have to get through the selection for the medical school first... But if I had to pick, I'd say an ER doctor, just so much variety and excitement! There is no 'best' job as a doctor, just what you like to do the most.

How do you find out? As soon as you don't need your crutches anymore?
Yeah, ER doctors are pretty cool. The way they have to stay calm when everyone's panicked = +100% in badassery, lol. (And heh, that 'best job' comment was just a personal opinion coming from someone who really likes watching skin/flesh heal and admires people with super steady hands. xD)

Trial and error I think. I'm walking quite all right now without my crutches at home. Now outside as well and I'm good to go!
I think so too, that job is so awesome! I simply enjoy the fact that you can improve somebody's life and help them get better when you are a doctor. Besides, it is also very fascinating to see how the body heals itself.
