sweeny

Hello.

I am Sweeny, older than the ages. Well, older than 30, which, as I read through the intros, seems to be the same thing. I am newly signed up to help with proof reading.

I moved to Japan in October, but I am Australian. I don't speak Japanese (yet) or read Japanese (yet) so that makes life both interesting and exhausting.

I like comics (obviously, although I have my own online one), arts and crafts, travel, onsens, photography, reading, cooking, cycling, hiking (although I am not fit (yet) so gentle hikes and cycling to work at the moment), fashion, science fiction, fantasy, anime, and many things.

I have two dogs back in Aus, although I suppose they are *technically* family dogs, and they technically live with my parents.. I miss them though.

I kind of like the snow, although I almost broke my ankle today. Actually I saw snow for the first time Christmas Day less than a month ago. I would normally be at work this time, but I came home with bronchitus. oh well.

anyway, I look forward to meeting you all.

Where are you living in Japan, Sweeny? Maybe somewhere around Tokyo, since you have been having snow lately? But I guess other places in Japan have been getting snow, too. :=X:

Also yay for more old peeps! :goodjob:

sweeny

Actually I am near Tokyo - Tsukuba. Although it doesn't snow a LOT here it is enough to get icey and slippery, and just be generally cold.

For Christmas I went to Kanazawa which is on the other side of the country, and they had so much snow over there. Not in Kanazawa, but in Shirakawago, and next month I go to Hokkaido for the snow festival -they will definitely have snow there!

hehe. I am glad for older people too! It is nice knowing I am not an island  :o_o:

kuri

Oh man, I've wanted to go to Shirakawa-go but never made it out there. :'( It's a lot harder to get to when you're starting out in Kyushu.

And now I'm even further away. :donwan:

sweeny

Heh. It was only 5 hours from where I was...

You were in a beautiful part of Japan then! I still need to head back. When I was in Japan last time I met great people down there, and actually the only people I know in Japan live there!

Shirakawago was beautiful. I really wanted to see it under snow.

Hi, Sweeny! Yay for another oldie! Well, we're not really old, but compared to all the high schoolers around here.... my 28 years (next week, dammit) feels ancient.

I have never been to Japan, but I desperately want to visit.  I like hearing about it from people who live there, though.  It sounds beautiful.

I am absolutely lucky to get the job I have! And I made it a *must* to travel as often as I can - say that means an extended trip, and a one day once a month :-) Because yes! it is beautiful, and it is so different to home!
