Hey guys! :) Hope you all are doing well!  :hmmm:

So I'm going to visit Ontario, Canada and stay there for a while. I don't do travelling much so I'm a little lost as to where I should start planning the trip so I thought why not ask around here? Haha. So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to where I must visit for the scenery/food/heritage/fun/enjoyment/almost anything in Canada? I'll be staying there from Jan-May so that's a whole load of time to do many things. I'm definitely going to the winter carnival in Feb in Quebec! And I might venture to the US since I'm really near the border but it's still undecided.

And any tips about the culture/transport/slangs/anything I might look out for in Canada would be nice too! ;)
Thanks a bunch!

O: You're going to be in Canada! I live in Canada too, but on the west side... xD Make sure you have boots ^^ I don't think winter in Eastern Canada is too chilly, but they do seem to get a lot of snow. So during spring, it can get really mushy and gross to walk in :/ If you're going to be in Ontario, might as well check out Niagara falls xD And if you're going to Quebec, you have to visit Quebec City! It's a beautiful town with old European style architecture that has beautiful stores and murales. Don't forget to try out Quebec food such poutine and maple sugar candy! There's also a lot of museums that you could check out if you're interested :D In May, there's a huuge tulip festival in Ottawa that attracts a lot of tourist and it looks really pretty ^^

And culture wise, well... almost everyone loves hockey and Tim Hortons xD And be sure to say thank you often~ (yeah it's a stereotype that's kinda true... A lot of my non-Canadian friends tell me how they started saying 'thank you' way more often compared to back home. Of course there's also the rude people too...). Also, when eating in a restaurant, we usually tip around at least 10-15%.

That's all I can think of for now... I only briefly visited Eastern Canada when I was younger. I hope you have a great stay here! :D
