PSP 2000....

Hey guys,

I am thinking of buying a PSP so I went to Pacific Mall (in Toronto) today with my mom and we went to ask every game stores how much they sell it for.

I want it to be modify (hehehe) so they said that:
3000 + mod = 250$ (CDN)
2000 + mod + 4gb memo. card = 280$ (CDN)

But take note that for 3000 you cannot turn off your PSP. You have to charge it so you don't have to turn it off/run out of battery. If it does I will have to remod it which is so troublesome (what about my electricity money?).

Another store offered 330$ for 2000 + 8gb memo. card + protection case.

Seriously PSP 2000 is expensive... =[

So right now I don't know what to do... my friend is asking her friends for me to see if anyone wants to sell it. T_T

Just a word of caution, you have to be very careful when modding PSPs.

PSP-3000 is currently unhackable. (Though there is an exploit for it which is probably the funny thing of why you can't turn it off).
PSP-2000 or slims are hackable unless they have the TA-88v3 motherboard (Usually comes with 4.01+ official firmware).
All Phat PSP's are hackable.

Most likely if they are selling PSP-2000 modded, my guess is that they are used PSPs (unless they stockpiled a tone of PSPs). If you are wondering why I know... Well I lost my PSP after an exam and was looking to get a new one, but I ran into this problem, since I had trouble finding a PSP-2000 which did not have a TA-88v3 motherboard D;...

That's probably also the reason why it's so expensive for the 2000, since Sony doesn't produce the hackable ones anymore (or else you could just go to the mall, and get a 2000 for 200 to get it modded).

Just a word of caution, in particular if you are buying a used PSP (of course if it's already been modded, you don't need to worry).

Have you ever tried to just buy an unmodded PSP on craiglist and then get it modded by someone else instead of buying a pre-modded one? ^_^

I would have pandora-ed it for you if you lived near here and had a psp ><

Like Sharwin said the 3000 is currently unhackable and they don't sell the 2000 in the market so I have to go get it online or in PMall...

At PMall that's the price they offer and I tried to search online but only saw for around 240$ CND (used) and new ones are like almost 300$. =[

Well I didn't find another website where they sell cheap like around 113$ Euro (new and free shipping) so I might get it from there. My friend told me that she knows a place where to mod and buy cheap memo. cards.
