in this other thread 'anime movies', we kept on talking about yaoi stuff and made 'normal' ppl uncomfortable, so here~ a yaoi thread appears~

first, yaoi is not a girl thing, there are boys who like yaoi too

one of my MALE classmate back in shanghai liked yaoi, and HE HAS A BOYFRIEND~ (his boyfriend is from another school though)
me and a bunch of friends were hanging around the city area, and we saw him walking with another guy. so we followed them and wanted to say hi, but then they started KISSING... when we asked him about it at school, he said with this super calm look: that's my boyfriend...

the world is a marvelous place, isn't it?

Furgeson

LOL! Yaoi is a girl thing. Utterly and completely.
Who'll read some fluffy smutty manga with nice plots and the double load of bishies?
Straight men don't like it. But if they do, they'll REFUSE to admit it. And hey, we all understand whyyyyy... XD
It's suprising that you use such a tone towards your friend. It's not that uncommon. it's not like gay, bisexual, transgender people are rareties of the planet. What makes me smile is the fact that he's so proud. We have to open our awareness, remember? Maybe that's why my school makes us read books that describe gay butt sex... *SHHHH!!!! but yes, authors have something for homosexuality. And suicide... >_>
I used to plug away at drama (fine) arts camps, and there were quite a number of gays there. I knew one boy who came out... Even though he was twelve.Anyway, they're probably quite a few of thos GBT's on this forum. You just have to look a little.
Remember Borat? XD

Let's share yaoi titles!  :hi:

Mister Want

I have a few friends that are gay. But, at times, they really act like the stereotypical gay. >_<

Anyway, I don't mind yaoi. But, I do think that there's a line that shouldn't be crossed. For example, I know there are a quite a number of bands out there with really hot guys, and the fans can't help but write yaoi/BL fanfic about them (even though they're not). I'm not saying that you can't write it. I mean, seriously, when you're a celebrity, you kind of put yourself out there. But, I know there are some people who actually go overboard obsessive and think those band members are actually gay. And write them letters about that. That's the line I say not to cross.

Other than that, *shrugs*. We humans seem to have a fascination with this same sex attraction.

Unfortunately that's the case with a lot of bands out there, especially when you look to the far east. Oh yellowy asian idols, we love you. (And the fanservice they do plays a part in sparking the imaginations of fangirls...not helping, really not helping.)

Yaoi = gay porn + shoujo fluff. I don't know what the yaoi-lovers in this forum read, but when I settle down with a good ol' volume, I tend to stay away from the hardcore stuff. And shota. No shota for me D: The only thing I have against the softer side of yaoi is that often times, it has little plot (especially when it's the drama/romance genre) and it just relies on buttsecks scene after scene after scene. Sexsquids and flowers. And here I thought no genre could match the pointlessness of a saga on kid ninjas.

In other news, Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi has been made into an anime. Congrats to Nakaruma-sensei~

icewing

OMFG YESSSS :3

xD...Sekai-ichi...Hatsukoi?

GRAH! DID YOU SEE THAT PICTURE OF GACKT VOICEACTING FOR SKET DANCE?! I swear he grows younger each year. Swear it. And, though I hate to make this comparison, he has that awful hairstyle that TOP is opting for. *shudders*

@HONEYMIXER: Oh good lordie lord. A Yoneda Kou fan? I must say, I worship that mangaka. It's great yaoi, a hint of sadism, a touch of humor, and lots and lots of chemistry. (There's actually a PLOT. How awesome is that? XD) I also have a thing for Suzuki Tsuta. The art reminds me a lot of Yoneda Kou's.

icewing

(: is Gackt was gay? just wondering...

I don't know any REAL couples...but i'm sure there are some around my school =_=

heh...there are quite a few around the entertainment industry :3

ESPECIALLY WITH BEAUTIFUL MALE MODELS  :shy:

"I'd just found out this morning that yoneda's finally back from hiatus...she has started advertising her latest artwork on twitter recently and i cant wait for her upcoming manga!!!FINALLY!!!!check out on her community in livejournal.com [only members can excess though] at http://yoneda-kou.livejournal.com/ and her twitter http://twitter.com/#!/_yoneco_ also,

"Saezuru Tori ha Habatakanai" ("The singing bird can't fly" ?), which is a spinoff of "Don't Stay Gold". This oneshot is released this month in HertZ vol45." ~some random fan
And let me just say if that one shot is going to give me the pairing I REALLY want, I will start crying. I am so glad she's back from hiatus and maybe (maybe *fingers crossed) even going to not leave one of her lovely characters stranded in angst and please just be happy why cant you be happy why did that have to happen that is so sad why arent you continuing your other series, sensei, whyyyy.

:T Yeah, I needed a few minutes.

Yuukii

Ryu

Well, I know that at least 3 people at Transcendence are Yoneda Kou fans. (Lily, shiine-chan, and myself)
Have you ever heard of her? :3

Yuukii

Ryu

I find Hinemosu Kimi Ni Ubawareru really cute~ And even though it's 8018, I don't really mind because of the quality of the art and plot. :)

(edit: haha, we're so not on the proper topic, but it's not like anyone really cares, right? XD)

Yuukii

I find all good  :goodjob:

:swt: Who cares?  :wahaha: Or shall we start a topic completely about yaoi?

But I wish she'll do an ALL27  :shy:

Renny

I thought this was a thread completly about Yaoi...

OK, so question for the fujoshi's in the crowd. You like yaoi, but what's your opinion on gays irl?
We all know that yaoi and BL is probably the worst representation of the GBSTA community ever, so what does that say about us when we read that shit and squeal over it like a toddler?

Ryu

Oh, I know how horribly BL and yaoi misconstrue that community. I keep the two completely separate in my mind.
I've known gay people, and was friendly with them. They're not any different than anyone else.

I only read doujinshi for the really nice-looking guys and the storyline. It's like a shoujo, except you get twice the amount of bishies. Kinda.  :=X:

...But that still doesn't say anything good about us who are drooling over this kind of stuff... :x

Yuukii

Those people will be disgusted of us  :swt: I've known, and experienced it before.

Ryu

...That makes me sad.

'cuz I had never told them about my reading of BL manga since they weren't even interested in manga to begin with. Would we not be on the same friendly terms if I had mentioned it?  :crywithno:

Things you read shouldn't define you, really. Right?

Yuukii

:swt: Yeah. I didn't really tell them. I was like this...
Me: They're so cool *pointing at BL picture*
Friend: Eww...I think that's disgusting
Me: -disappointed- *thinks: what if they knew I actually love BL?*
Me: I mean, if only those pictures were separate, they'll be cool
Friend: Yeah

:indotz: I hate myself  :'(

Renny

 :wahaha: you guys are funny...

Anyway a while ago me and and two friends were talking about gays in general and people's reaction to them... we were especially wondering why people are so disgusted about gays and had no problem with lesbians...  :indotz:

I didn't want to tell my friends that I am fine with it especially in mangas but also in real life...
