I went on it a few minutes ago to check on Nononono... and some wierd window popped up saying that OM will be removing its content within the week! (and I see in the chatbox that Nyhte tripped onto that notice too)

T__T someone, tell me whether the news is true or just some hoaxer!!

I noticed it too..I don't know if it is true or not
but maybe it is because of how manga publishers grouped together to go against manga-reading sites like onemanga and mangafox.

Everything is true... It's all because of this US and Japan manga publishers going against Scanlations and manga hosting sites. This is why a lot... I mean it A LOT of the popular scanlation groups are avoiding release, closing down (RIP NBM), and gone missing (aka hiding). I already knew that websites like OneManga will close down pretty soon... was just waiting for it to happen. I personally preferred OneManga over MangaFox. >.> Even MangaToshokan was affected... good thing that they didn't close down but only removed a hecka bunch of manga off their website. No offense to MangaFox fans/members/etc... but I really want them to close down -_-" Don't ask me why I just dislike them.

So yeah... every scanlation have to be careful!

wow Lily, such determination in the face of terrible expectations T_T

I was talking to my bf last night about this and he said that if those publishers (or better yet, mangaka) wanted to revive their ailing sales, the best thing they could do would be to release all their manga ONLINE through a site like OManga/MFox, and then get users to pay monthly subscription fees or get revenue from advertisements (ala Youtube)... and then do that OpenManga thing and let people scanlate for free (thus saving themselves the cost of paying bored paper-pushers to do it)... because hey, us readers can't afford to buy all the manga we'd like to read, and not everyone can read non-English manga.

...too bad that won't come true.
