Thats a complicated question, but personally I would get to know the person better before accepting to date them... Perhaps I'm just overly cautious, but before I get into a relationship I would like to know a lot about her first, lest I turn into an emotional mess when/if she dumps me.
:noway:

Its a balance between caution and good judgement, if you ask me. Perhaps he's an amazingly sweet, dependable guy, but you wouldn't know until you get to know him better.

 :swt:

Um, its not that I have high expectations, as I don't expect people to live up to my personal standards. Instead, I simply try to hold myself responsible for how I behave by respecting others in the way I believe is proper even if they do not return the gesture. I am happy to receive any form of social interaction, even if it boarders on abuse, because I realize that I'm probably not the easiest person to get along with either and I shouldn't expect everyone (or anyone for that matter) to like me.

:touched:

Sorry about driving the conversation off-topic

Perhaps pollen has something to do with it, but I think I am leaning more toward dust...
:omg:

Either way, its driving me nuts right now since I am trying to study for an economics exam.

 ???

Oooooh, you guys are always coming up with such difficult questions...

I would probably say that I like dependable people who respect others and acknowledge their own shortcomings. This just so happens to be the complete opposite of how my parents and siblings act.
:wahaha:

Respect is something that I prize highly because it shows that you actually care enough about the other person to place value in what they say, do, believe, etc. This is something that a lot of guys just don't have because they quite frankly act like they are, every one of them, God's gift to mankind incarnate. Perhaps its just my negative slant towards my fellow men in general, but they typically have so big of egos that its irritating to even be around them.
:omg:

Why can't being polite and civil to each other be the cultural norm?

I'm allergic to... something, I'm sure... Its the worst in spring and fall, but I haven't managed to narrow down what it is, exactly (its something airborne, that's all I know)

Music & Movies / Re: What's your favourite movie?
September 22, 2011, 09:35
Hm, my favorite movie... That's a tough one to be sure.

I have a list of five movies that I really really like, though, but I can't say this is the actual order in which I would place them.
:wahaha:

1. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (movie)

2. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

3. Howl's Moving Castle

4. Spirited Away

5. The Place Promised in Our Early Days

 :wahaha:

Hardly... I usually just stay inside due to my sensitivity to light (bright lights give me terrible headaches) which also keeps me safe from those ravening insects known as mosquitoes.

Lifestyle / Re: Mosquitos
September 20, 2011, 19:59
 :bingo:

I've heard that mosquitoes have weak wings, so when your outside try to get a lot of air flow around the area that you have to be (like pull out a big industrial-sized fan) if you have to be outside in one place for an extended period of time... plus it doubles as a good way to keep a bit cooler.
:goodjob:

If you have a large body of water on your property like a pond, its almost essential to have fish in it to eat the mosquitoes and keep them from overpopulating... or if you have enough room you could attract mosquito-eating animals like some types of birds and bats.

:hmmm:

Other than that, just limit outdoor exposure and only go out on bright or windy days.

Talk to someone of course... I spend way too much of my time just listening to music.

Would you rather have cake or pie?

I'll scan the one finished picture that I have and send you it ASAP, then the others as I finish them (it will probably take me a few days to get the others since I am focusing on getting a scene done by this Weds for class.)

Renny, I will scan the concept art I have for my Moon Warrior as soon as I get home ^_^" Would you be willing to colorize it for me?

PS: I have already photographed it, but its too low of quality of photo to really do a good job on colorizing it (aside from the fact that the picture is actually flipped): http://ambezua.deviantart.com/art/Moon-Warrior-206484795
#20
Alright, I will sign you up for colorist then, thanks Renny! Should I send you the individual frames that need colorizing or should I send you the complete movie file for colorizing?

Mostly what I need in terms of cutscene is:

1. Title screen opening animation (letters appearing, sliding to different blocks of text)

2. Basic transitional effects such as fade to black, cross-fade to white and black, slide, drop, narrowing from below and above to black, narrowing circle with fade to black

3. Credits scrolling

I could use another person other than Ryu (assuming she officially agrees to provide voice acting) just in case something unexpected turns up, so I will sign you up as well ^^" I will just be needing English voice acting. (Although it would be cool if we could get someone fluent in english and japanese.)

Oh, a low female voice would be awesome.  :goodjob:

She's quite a tough girl, not your average female anime lead character by any long shot (unless you are used to watching shows like Shikabene Hime). So yeah, a deep voice is fine. Try out the lines if you want and email me the sound files so I can properly lip-sync (timing is crucial!)

The date of the rough final is about nine weeks from today, with the completed version set two weeks later (that's a total of 11 weeks for the mathematically challenged) I know that's quite a while from now, but I want to really polish it out well so I need all the time I can get.

I'm shooting for around 700-1000 unique frames (I haven't actually finalized any just yet other than backgrounds so the estimate is based on other people's frame count) in the finished project, and around 2:00 of screen time.

:hi:

Hello, I realize that not many people here know me, but I wanted to make an announcement all the same since some of you may be interested in helping me on this project (yes, you will get credit in the final version). For my traditional animation class final, I will be required to submit a minimum of 30 seconds of footage, illustrating what I have learned over the semester... It must have a music track and/or voice acting.

:hmmm:

My goal is to create a 2-2:30 minute one-shot action story. Its a little one-shot story that has been floating around in my head for a while now. Its about this quiet, sort of out-of-place warrior known simply as "Moon Warrior" (Not a reference to sailor moon or anything, I just named her weapon a Moon Hammer so that's the only thing that comes to mind to name her) who for some unexplained reason is in charge of guarding a shrine floating in the sky. She is resting by herself for what seems like eternity when she looks up and sees the Sky Spirit (think flowing robes, clouds around him, etc.) who declares that the shrine is an affront against himself. Moon Warrior stands up and engauges in combat with him, much hammer swinging and lightning bolt launching ensues. Throughout the combat there are short cutscenes that explain why she is there and why she is now alone. Finally the fight scenes eventually end, we are left with Moon Warrior in a similar state as before, simply waiting for someone to challenge her again

:goodmood:

I have chosen two pieces composed by "Two Steps From Hell"

Action Period Music: (Spirit of Champions) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rm9mIneSVA

Ending Credits Music: (Undying Love) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14ZkxaV7fQQ

:bingo:

What I am looking for is:

1. Voice actor for the Moon Warrior herself (Don't worry, she doesn't have a lot of lines)

2. A digital cutscene specialist (I'm not very savvy with the programs at UTD yet)

3. Japanese language consultant (to make sure I am drawing the japanese letters correctly, and to ensure that I am properly translating them)

3. (optional) Colorists to painstakingly colorize my sketches!

4. Reviewers for the final product

:o_o:

Please just leave a post here if you are interested, and like I said, you WILL receive credit for your work. Thank you in advance, and I hope we can make an awe-inspiring product by the end of this semester.

Actually, that's probably the best state to be in.  Don't look for it, let it find you.  /cheese
[/quote]

Sitting around waiting for happiness (or love in this case) to fall in your lap is quite overly optimistic if you ask me. I've been trying that for the last ten years or so and its just pretty much gotten me ignored.

*stress

If you want anything good out of life, love, money, success, a stable relationship, etc., its something you have to work at and find for yourself. Just expecting things to fall out of the sky on you will just leave you disappointed and possibly depressed.

Personally, I find love as the condition of willingness to give up certain comforts, pleasures, desires, time, effort, dreams, etc. in order to obtain the companionship, respect, and faithfulness of someone else. Its expected that both sides will make sacrifices to one degree or another due to how much they value each other rather than simply looking for what they can "get out of" the relationship for themselves. In this perspective, its a lot more about the personality of the other person than their looks. Sure, you won't probably fall in love with someone who you find repulsive, and being easy on the eyes certainly helps, but I find most people's criteria much too biased towards looks. If I could find someone who could bear to deal with my personality and isn't too put off by my looks then I would be more than happy to make some pretty drastic lifestyle changes.

The problem is, I'm absolutely terrible at reading romantic vibes or the lack thereof, so in the end I'm left wondering if I even have a chance at love at all. All the jerks who are upfront and blunt with how shallow they really are tend to capture all the attention.

:crywithno:

In the end I'm left wondering if there is even a place for the sentimental, polite, and kind in the world.  :noway: So in the end I'm stuck watching anime and reading manga about relationships and banging my head on the wall in mild irritation as my roommates act like complete idiots in their own relationships.

:omg:

I'm type-casted as the friend, darn it, and feel free to call me a cynic if you must but it seems I am just destined to be alone.

That's pretty much my take on love... Be active, be willing to give up things, and even if you are all those things it still might not work out. That's just how it goes these days.

The very first? Let me think about that one  ???

The Little Bits (Yes, that is an anime). Its about a lot of little fairies (or pixies, I forget which) that live in the forest next to a mountain. That was back when I was, like, four or five, and I didn't recognize it as anime at the time. The first one I realized was actually anime was Sailor Moon, from when I was around six or seven.

I didn't really get into anime until I saw Ranma 1/2 though.  :=X:
