Staff Introductions / 'Lo there.
November 15, 2010, 03:17
Well, hi. Hmm, I suppose I should just start off by saying that I'm joining in as a translator (JPN->ENG) to the crew.

I'm kind of infamous for my Engrish-ness by those I've talked to thus far; so, be warned. Also, let me just say I'm probably classed with the more wordier types of people a person may ever meet on the net. But, I'll try to keep this introduction as succinct as possible...

Experience-wise, I've been practicing translating most "consistently" ever since this summer--though, mainly just for anime. Prior to that, I've had some exposure with random translation-checking and well, translating "some" entire episodes of anime and chapters of manga. Even so, I'm still more or less a novice in many ways, I feel; however, I hope to improve after time. Well, 2010 would qualify as the seventh year of which I've studied Japanese. Yet, I would rank myself to the point of which I've learned about four years of university-study level equivalent [in the States], however, as I've learned Japanese independently [outside of school] after my second year of university. That being said, I'm currently a fourth-year at a university in the Pacific Northwest of the States.

Then, as for what I enjoy, I guess? I basically like everything, as in practically every genre, when it comes to anime/manga. I can't say that I'm a die-hard fan of anime anymore, though. Lately, I've been collecting more and more manga. Recently have gotten hooked to some really interesting josei and shoujo series, though. And well, aside from anime/manga, uhh, I'm a fan of all music genres; thus, I find myself learning of a new artist/band every other day or so. Meh, I'm pretty plain, now that I think about it more carefully. Oh well, I guess that's it (for now)?

Look forward to working with some/(all?) of you. Also, I look forward to receiving advice and guidance in becoming more effective and efficient in my translation provision. Thanks for your time and patience.
