OMG YESSS! I really love those historical mangas or anything with different dimensions. I've recently read The Queen's Servant. It has the same feeling as Kanata Kara.

Oooooh. I might have to try that one.

No kidding. I mean, some can last a while, like Skip Beat, but even that will end someday.

Anything half-assed. Like Panic x Panic. It's only 2 volumes, and the first had such promise, but the second was like "pah, I spit in your face."

(I <3 Ultra Maniac, love that ending)

I really liked the endings that jump ahead and show you a chapter-ish of their lives after. (Like Ouran or Ultra Maniac). I really liked the ending for Magic Knight Rayearth and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.

TSK does have time travel in it, but it's not the center of the story. I've heard of Glass Mask...

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT ISN'T DONE?! I thought for sure it would be by now. I admit to liking some of the older stuff too. Haven't read many though, unless Ranma 1/2 counts.

Who gets drawn to the really weird but awesome manga? Some of my favorites involve time/dimension travel [Kanata Kara, Anatolia Story] Or a wild fantastic setting [Legend of Basara (<3)] Or crazy battles, some of which are political, which I find ironic since I'm not into my own country's politics.

Also...
Magic Knight Rayeart
And absolutely anything by Arina Tanemura.

Fanfiction / The Power of Spirit
May 04, 2015, 14:46
I'm about to go into a major round of edits with this (starting in the next couple weeks) but here is the Prologue, which I don't think needs much work. :)

The Power of Spirit

Prologue

Queen Serenity, high ruler of the moon kingdom, looked on as the ivory homes of her beloved people turned to rubble from the force of her daughter's grief. She watched as they floated off and became asteroids and other such forms of floating debris. Tears welled in her eyes and obscured her vision.

This was her home, and it was being destroyed, and all she could do was look on. She could not save her people, she couldn't save herself, and she wasn't sure if she could save her family.

She swallowed and called the lifeless forms of her daughter, her daughter's lover, and both of their guardians. They were blood splattered, bent, twisted, and crushed from the buildings that had fallen atop them and caused their deaths.

She held back an exclamation and started chanting. Her voice wet and broken; she could barely make the words that would save her family and friends, but she preservered. The chain of words that managed to escape her lips is steady, unbroken, and clear. They resonated with power.

Moon, Spirit, Earth,
Grant protection.
Grant life.
Grant a second chance.

The air charged as she repeated herself over and over again, funneling all of her energy into this, her final request. She watched as, one by one, the figures rose and curled in on themselves. They flashed, illuminating the chaotic sky. Dozens sparkling cards were left in their wake. They rotated and Serenity could see a pattern on their many backs: a silver crescent moon surrounded by blazing stars. Serenity couldn't help but admire them as works of art.

They disappeared, streaking into the distance.

Serenity fell on her knees, praying, chanting, hoping for a better future as she took her final breath.

I've been trolling the forums for awhile, but I don't think I've introduced myself.

So, hi. My name is Becca. :) It is very nice to meet you.

I am a proofreader here, and a native English speaker. Sadly, the only other language that I am even laughably proficient at is Spanish.

My current favorite Transcendence/Decadence manga are Ardour, Migawari, and Biyaku Cafe. I also plan on reading Butter!!! here soon because it looks entertaining.

Hmm... what else is there to say? Well, I guess that mentioning that I'm a sophomore in college gearing toward a Bachelors in English is a good way to end.

Adios!

10th Kingdom is AMAZING!!! I just wish it had gotten a second series.  :'(

PERSONALITY: INFP
VARIANT: Turbulent
ROLE: Diplomat

INFP personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, INFPs have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the INFP personality type - but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

Strengths:
Idealistic
Seek Value and Harmony
Open Minded and Flexible
Very Creative
Passionate and Energetic
Dedicated and Hard Working

Weaknesses:
Too Idealistic
Too Altruistic
Impractical
Dislike Dealing With Data
Take Things Personally
Difficult to Get to Know

I can get on board with all of the Strengths, but I'm not so sure I'm that altruistic, or impractical, or difficult. The others are pretty good though.

I think you might enjoy it since it's a twist on fairy tales too  :D

OUAT is amazing!!! Sadly, I'm an episode behind. :( I can't wait to watch it.

So, is it like bratz?
in a way?

Kind of. The idea is the same, create a show to sell dolls. EAH, however, has the potential to take itself seriously. Thankfully, they've started to do that recently. :) If you're curious, the episodes are only about two minutes long after the first 3. Although, there have been two specials that are about 40+ minutes. THRONECOMING... SO GOOD...

Sorry, I just got all fangirly.

Immortals by Fall Out Boy. I totally blame Big Hero 6 for that though. :) Such a good movie.

 :bingo:

Basically the existence of Fairy Tales (including the honorary ones like Alice in Wonderland) are renewed every generation by their children. Basically, the daughter of Snow White is destined to become Snow White. Well, this has been going on for many many many generations, and eventually, Raven Queen (daughter of the Evil Queen in Snow White) decides that she doesn't want to follow in her mother's footsteps and refuses to follow her destiny.

The whole school ends up divided into two different groups, the Royals and the Rebels, and that's the series in a nutshell. :) It's pretty interesting. Along with the books are a series of webisodes. The webseries isn't quite up to par with the books though, at least in my opinion.

Anime rarely get's my emotion out. But if I had to choose, I'll pick Full Moon Wo sagashite. The episode where Mitsuki found out that Echi had passed away; and she goes searching for him during a snowstorm. or or when Mitsuki had to give up her singing to finish your surgery. D:

Love Full Moon, alas, I've never seen the anime. The manga is just so beautiful . And none of that happens in the manga. It takes a completely different route. Ohh, now I wanna read it again. :D
