 :hi:

Welcome to Transcendence! <3

It's nice to meet you. :3  I'm Tear, and I'm a rolly polly Editor 'round these parts. I'm also rather addicted to Kdramas... what one(s) are you watching at the moment? Any recommendations on the new season? :3

Come visit us in the CB - (it gets so lonely sometimes ;0;) - or the IRC channel. I'm usually lurking there in the wee hours of the US morning. If you ever have any questions - the staff here is fantastic, so don't be afraid to ask! :3

Why, I have no idea what you're talking about, Aurelia. I most certainly do not have a Certified Lurker Card tucked away in my web browser permissions.

Not at all.

I don't know where to start with Doctor Who.  :'(

With your TV tastes, it would be best to start with season 1 of the 2005 series. :3

Hello there! :3

So, I probably missed this as I'm also a slowpoke, but does that mean that you've been accepted as a Quality Checker? :D  It's nice to meet you, Alejandra! I'm Tear, and I'm a rolly polly Editor. :3 Spanish was my first language... and I also have a hard time writing it well (accents? what're those? :D), so if you ever need someone to fail!practice Spanish with you, just let me know!

Ohohohoho~!  Hello, Yuu~! <3 Welcome to Transcendence~! :D

I'm Tear, and I must admit I'm an avid fan of, well, all of the TV shows you listed. :3 Torchwood is fantastic, although I tend to prefer Doctor Who more. <3 Your bunnies are also very well named, indeed. Translation can be difficult, but I've always found it satisfying in the end. :3 Sadly, I don't know any of the Asian languages enough to translate, so I'm both in awe and grateful for you!

I hope to see you around!

Welcome to Transcendence, Nana-chan~! :DDD

Mmm, I can definitely empathize re: pursuing hot men through anime or manga. ;3 So many men, so little time~! *cough* I mean... HI. :D I'm Tear, and I'm also a rolly polly Editor 'round here. :3 I'm usually awake in the wee hours of the U.S. morning, so if you're here, I'm always available to chat, poke, bother, or what have you. And I have no problem talking for hours about pretty pretty boys~

Good luck with your training!!! I'm sure you're going to love this fantabulous place as much as we do. :3

Welcome to Transcendence!!!

I'm Tear, and I had to tearfully shed my lurker status too, once upon a time. I know it can be hard, but know that we, the Staffies, are here to help you make the transition.

There, there. There, there. You made the right choice. You're doing so well so far!!! We're so proud of you. <3

Don't worry. You can lurk a little between projects. At least until a PM finds you. :3

:hi:

I'm Tear, and I'm a rolly polly Editor 'round these parts as well. :D I'm usually awake at odd hours, so I rarely talk to my fellow countrymen during normal hours. ;-; I also abuse smileys and emotes to a horrifying degree. Please feel free to ignore them. ^^;

Code Breaker~! <3 I adore that manga so hard. I've been trying to get into Last Game, but although the first chapter had tons of promise, I can't quite seem to get past the first few chapters. Any suggestions? ^^; <3

Also!  Yay Mr. Children fan! I <3 Jrock, although I have to admit that I haven't raided YouTube for it in a while.

It definitely depends on the raws and how much SFX you're cloning out. When working on JTT I varied from 10 minutes to 1.5 hours per page. ...But that's also because there's 85 BILLION SFX (number may be an approximation) in that friggin' manga and I'm a perfectionist. :X

I am hoping to increase my speed, however. I'd like to be able to do a chapter in 2-3 days, regardless of the painful redraws. <3

xEDIT;
Reasons why answering that questions was a waste of my time:
a) Tear is a Traitor.
b) It says in the post that the document has been downloaded 0 times.
c) You could have downloaded it and compared it to your previous downloaded version.
d) The post also says when the attached link was last edited.

Learn your forum-ology, woman.

1. Don't worry, I'll always love you, Lady Lily~
2. The dl count doesn't show on my phone's version of the forum.
3. I'm at work, so I can't dl the new version to compare.
4. I was hoping it would be the same so that when I got home I could just type up the proofread script when I got home instead of having to redo it. :P

A foolish hope, as it turns out. :P

Well, I wasn't planning on (ever) posting in this section, but I was going through my photobucket today and found the one manga coloring that went (fairly) decently for me and figured I'd add to the mix. I dare not say just how long this picture took me... I'm a slowpoke on normal things; trying something for the first time takes at least a zillion times longer.

Also... this was probably ~4 years ago, while I was a lurker on a different manga forum... (Epic Lurker, that's me!)

Anyway!  Here it is!  The character is Vera from Veritas, if anyone is familiar with the manga.  If I find any more fun things in the bucket, or if I actually start attempting to color again, I'll post them here as well. :3

Manga / Re: Manga or Anime?

Mmm... I'd go with manga for shoujo stories and anime for the more shounen series. Primarily those with amazing fight scenes (trying to decipher the awesomeness of a final move in all the jagged lines of ink takes away from the coolness, imo).

So... both! \o/

You are correct: Photoshop World is just the NPAA conference, but you should go anyway! :D It's tons of fun and beyond worth it for the sessions. (At least, for the student fee it is. :x)

So... that contest was actually run through the Advanced Photoshop UK magazine. They had a monthly contest in their forums under the "Peer Pressure" category, which I somehow can't get to atm. >.>; The address just redirects me to their main page: http://advancedphotoshop.co.uk  :'(

Well! Anyway, they would run the contest winners in the magazine every month. I had found a few of the winners, but the search info I used has now vanished. ;-; Here's at least one of the winning image locations I somehow manages to save:

Hm... Well, I learned English and Spanish concurrently, but I learned Spanish by ear and went to school in the U.S.A. Therefore, I have no idea where accents are supposed to be placed and while I can understand 99% of the vocabulary thrown my way, my own ability to converse is limited to Junior High or High School level words.  :indotz:

In terms of schooling, I've taken:

- Half a year of Latin (... but it's gone now)
- Half a year of Korean (and I'm teaching myself the other half atm)
- One year of French
- One and a half years of Japanese (I still remember the majority of it + yay JDrama and anime vocabulary!)
- Two years of German (and promptly forgot 1.5 years of it)

I've always wanted to take Arabic and Russian, but the logical person in me has stated that I should probably polish up the languages I've started to learn before I attempt any more. Otherwise, I'm likely forget what I still remember...  :crywithno:

Anime / Re: Best Anime of All Time....
April 29, 2012, 23:51
I usually try to distinguish between "best" and "favorite," but that doesn't always happen :x

For me, the best anime would have to be Fullmetal Alchemist (no movies). One, because it's a fantastic series, but also because it's rare for me to feel like the anime did the story more justice than the manga. I mean, where else can you get a series that turned a four panel omake into an entire episode that wasn't made of filler goo?

I... tend to not watch shoujo anime, :swt:, so I am probably more in tune with the Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Outlaw Star, etc line of awesomeness. Code Geass is also one that I randomly obsess over and would recommend.
HOWEVER. My favorite anime of all time is still Rurouni Kenshin de gozaru yo.

I really enjoyed Sailor Moon, but I think the fandom started to turn me off after I got older and started to see just how over the top people went. Still, I'd recommend it. <3

That's my dream place to go! ;0;  I'm so jealous of you, L-Angel! Go play on the squeaky and black beaches for me! That's where I'd go if I had the chance...

Stay strong, Roze! :D

I've been there far too often as well. Remember, outlines are your friend!  :=X:

*adds her $.02* The first anime I can remember watching, like a typical Latin American, is Sailor Moon.

I always watched it at my cousin's house when we were little(ish). However, I had no clue that it was actually a Japanese anime and not a Mexican or Spanish cartoon until I was in High School when my friend showed me the giant poster in her room going "that's anime!" To my clueless, "No, that's a Mexican cartoon, and those two aren't cousins!" After that came much squealing (and wincing on my end) and a bombardment of questions as to how I got the "un-edited" versions.

From there it wasn't until college that I first saw, and yes, adored, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Go on, laugh it up. Just know that in the end it's going to be me flying off into the sunset in a helicopter with Seto Kaiba to live richly happily ever after.)

The first anime I saw subbed instead of dubbed, however, was Gravitation.  Then Rurouni Kenshin, SDK, Inuyasha... I was pretty much doomed after RK. I mean, sexy man with a sword that does laundry? Mmmm~  :shy:  Manga came later... sometime... and suddenly I had three bookshelves full of manga and a Japanese 101 book in my backpack.

Ahh.... to be young(er) again... <3
