Lifestyle / Re: Big Mistakes!!!
February 07, 2010, 15:40
Ah, I just remembered another event I regret.

Back when I was in middle school, I would always help my friends with their "relationship" problems. I would stay on Aim/Yahoo IM for hours just to give out suggestions on what they could do, or console them, telling them that nothing was wrong with them, that it was always the boys' fault for not noticing their "efforts".

It got to the point where me and my friends would stay up chatting until midnight or past then. I was so involved with their social lives that I messed up my priorities and put them first over my school work/academics. My grades started slipping, especially in Geometry, dear god, math always goes down first, and I was confused as hell. I didn't want to blame my friends for their problems, but I hated the fact that I was so wrapped up and that I couldn't just tell them good luck and cut them out of my life.

Later on that year, I had to take a test so I could go to a better highschool, with some sort of special IB program. Obviously, I failed and wasn't accepted, and I was pretty mad at myself for quite a while.  A looong while.  x_x My parents were disappointed too, and that killed me.

So, cheesy life lesson - friends are important, but you have to know your limit when it becomes really obvious that they're influencing you in a bad way. :o_o:

LOL. It depends if I still remember any of it.

I took French 1 and 2 wayy back in 7th and 8th grade. I'm not sure I even remember the conjugation forms.  :swt:

Lifestyle / Re: School Anime Clubs?
February 07, 2010, 15:15
 :hi: Hi Lotti!

Lol, I wish our club had done Japanese lessons too. That sounds pretty awesome. We have a japanese member who'se fluent in the language but she refuses to teach the club the language firsthand. Right now, my school's anime club leaders are currently trying to research on different Japanese cultures to teach to the club to make it a more "educational" environment.

Blech.  :vomit:

Love the manga idea, btw.  : )

Aw, Shiki. <3 That sounds so..tragic.

&& your moral reminds me of something pretty similar that happened to me too.

I remember back in 3rd grade, there was a girl my class used to tease. She was basically always isolated and people would often give her rude remarks on whatever she did. There was a lot of degrading going on - it was pretty cruel, now that I think back on it.
She passed away 2 summers ago. Of course, I regret what I did before she died, but I never brought it up since I was pretty ashamed. I even tried to forget it even happened as I got to know her better. .___.

:/ It's hard to live life with no regrets. But I totally agree - you never know when it's too late.

^^ If it goes great, you can even sell the calenders, since they're the product of the students themselves.

You just need to find a sponsor willing to host the club who can help you with that.

Best of luck!

Lol, speaking about country songs, what about Taylor Swift?

She's a big hit nowadays.

Ah, and you can't forget Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA".  :vomit:

Ummm. Classes? Lol, my classes are booked up with academic classes. No slot for art.
I taught myself by doodling in class.  :swt:

Glad you like my art.

??? Oh, no no. There's nothing to feel weird about - we all have different tastes. ^^

I feel like I'm the old one liking classical music and whatnot.  :shy:

Besides J-rock, what else do you like listening to?

Ehh. I'm not really knowledgable when it comes to music that isn't classical. /shot

But I do recommend Taeyang's Wedding Dress/ Big Bang's Haru Haru/ Yuna Ito/ ...BoA? Lol, I feel so out of date with the last two.

^^ The piano portions of the first two are amazing; just saying.  *skip

Manga / Re: Misproportions
January 19, 2010, 14:40
Okay, now this one is just silly.
I've noticed the weird proportions this artist does too; I just never actually put that much thought into it.
It really is just the plot that keeps me going. I remember being irritated by the side/profile views she's done lately in the series.
Maybe it's just me.

Black Bird / Re: Black Bird
January 19, 2010, 14:32
:D Ahh. I'm glad Transcendence picked this up too.

ChibiHeaven's right. It's one of those light/fluff shojos. I'd recommend Hug/Kiss (since it's also adorable and the guy's a bishie) and it's complete (if you hate waiting for chapters like I do).
:swt: I can't think of anything else at the moment.

January 19, 2010, 14:29
Awww. That's so..funky!

Haha, did the author do this for humor purposes, or is that the author's style?

(scared to laught if it's the latter one) >:(

:goodmood: Lol, better safe than sorry!

The test gave me the really hard questions, asking me about certain fines and "Implied Consent". My friends told me all I had to worry about was recognizing signs. -_-

Just make sure you do the practice questions on the website (there should be some) and you'll be fine!

Oh dear. We got ourselves a feminine man.

:woohehe: Reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin.

:shy: Wahh. Really? THE FIRST?  :o_o: But you're such an amazing artist! And I'm sure there are many others here as well who can draw fanart. 8D

Haha, I suck at coloring, so the majority of the pictures might only be just black and white. (Traditional Art=Black Pen+Paper).

:] &&Thanks! I'd love to teach you! I dunno how though.. :touched:

Lolol. I wouldn't go that far. It'd have more members than the actual staff.

:goodmood: I can't wait to learn how to edit/typeclean/QC though. All that good stuff.

Lifestyle / Re: Big Mistakes!!!
January 18, 2010, 18:30
Wow. Everyone's sharing stories about school-related stuff. :o Ummm. Worst mistake I did in school was decide to take AP Calc AB my junior year. I thought it'd be a piece of cake, so i skipped out on doing homework, failed the tests, and barely managed to get a C in the class. I wish I had taken Stats or something.

:donwan:

Another huge mistake would be...underestimating the permit test for my state. All of my friends had told me that it was a common sense test and that it was a joke, so I didn't bother studying (just like Calc). Obviously, being the arrogant carefree girl I was, I bombed it.

Thank god you're not asking people to share their most embarassing moments (though there should be a thread)!

Lifestyle / Re: School Anime Clubs?
January 18, 2010, 18:14
Ah. I have an Anime club in my High school here in the US.

We do a lot of things; we're fortunate to have a handful of amazing artists in it.

Right now, the club is having a Pocky fundraiser, and it's been going on for about 2-3 months now. We'll be using the money we make so we can host up ANOTHER fundraiser involving a Sumo match between the teachers and the students. The profit's being used to buy the costumes/drinks and whatnot.

Umm. We have our meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch; I have certain days set up where we watch anime projected onto a screen (promethean board). We also have drawing lessons, projects, and contests. :)

What I recommend you do is have your group of artists draw a few pictures and make a collection. You can then use those pictures to make your very own club Calender. :]

If you're doing the manga thing, good luck! That takes ALOT of dedication and commitment.

:D Hey Everyone!

It's my first time joining a group, so please take care of me.

I'm here as an illustrator. :]
Samples:   ((M O O N L I T))

Ah. Forgive my horrible photoshop coloring skills.

I also have an account on Gaiaonline.com, called MoonlitElegy, too. ^^ We can chat it up there.

But yeah; Umm. there's not much about me that's really interesting? I decided to join this place because I fell in love with one of the manga you guys are working on, "Black Bird".
:woohehe:
Hopefully I can do fanart for others like it.

I also want to help out some more, but...? I don't know how to do anything else but draw. ;_; Can someone teach me how to do other times? I'm a good student!

:goodjob:  Nice to meet you guys! I'm off to edit my profile.
