Title: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Arr-chan on February 14, 2014, 13:10
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! How are you spending today? with someone else? by yourself? with your bishies? (i might be going to a My bloody Valentine's day dance and I'm super excited because I might be able to win $400  :o_o:  :donwan: I also get to dress up in a halloween costume  )I have no boyfriend, so I'm celebrating with my friends today (i'm gonna play single ladies on repeat today  :=X:).  course, we all know the real holiday is the 15th when all the chocolate goes on sale  :woohehe: anyway, whether your spending this valentine's day alone, or with someone else, Have a good one  :bye:

i spent this morning watching mens figure skating... because yuzuru hanyu. i'm pretty disappointed with the turnout even though my bb got gold BUT whatever, that's a completely unrelated discussion.

later on tonight i'm going to be getting on a plane to reunite with my bf >.> my flight was supposed to be yesterday but got postponed b/c of weather issues, i am still somewhat bitter that i get one less day with him but WHATEVER

i don't usually do any kind of gift exchanges with him for vday, and we only got dinner reservations for saturday night and sunday night. normally the biggest display of vday affection i get is from my parents, who love gifting me xD

i love those little sweethearts candies. no one else i know likes them, but they are my favorites!

I used to like the sweetheart candies as a kid but now I don't really care for them. xD I'd rather have chocolate~ Also can't wait to go shopping for cheap chocolate tomorrow! Hehe.

I'm planning on spending the evening with my boyfriend. We don't have a lot of money right now so we're just going to stay at home. He doesn't know this but I'm planning on making him a big dinner. I also bought some candies and a watch for him and of course a card. I also bought some candles and fake flowers to help ~set the mood~

Hehe. I'm pretty excited!

oh god that actually reminds me
i was at ralphs last night around midnight with my friend - we didn't expect to see anyone there but the parking lot was PACKED. and the store itself... looked like a precious moments card exploded or something. BALLOONS. EVERYWHERE. FLOWERS. EVERYWHERE. pink and red and HEARTS good lord

i get chocolate way more often than i get candies so i guess part of it is the novelty aspect >< we get the sees candies gift certificates from costco all the time, and my dad randomly brings home belgian chocolates sometimes

but yay, what's on the menu for tonight, roze?!

@Roze well, that sounds much better than my Taco Bell (its my parents thing. they've been going to Taco Bell on Valentine's day ever since they started going out, and they've been married for 20 years this year.) I wish you luck with your plans.

@X_nielleified well, I hope you have fun! In the end I guess it doesn't really matter what happens as long as you see your loved one, does it? Must be nice... ANYWAY, those little sweethearts are pretty good, but for me it depends on the flavor. I like the orange ones the best.

merp idk, i only visit about once a month so BITTER BITTER BITTER D: i'm normally there thursday mornings through monday nights but this time i lost two days -_-

a lot of my friends are saying house of cards is their valentine xD which is hilarious

taco bell sounds cute though. it means they get to avoid the crowds and having to bother with a reservation every year!

on valentines day I went to legazpi to pass on my csc form, took a stoll with my classmates, and did my software thesis.

when my classmates were planning about what to do on feb. 14th, i asked "why? is it a holiday on that day?". either im just busy or that ive never really celebrated that day >.>''

I would probably have forgotten it was a holiday too if I didn't have my parents thing that they do and with all the girls I know freaking out about it. by the way, what's a csc? ???

As I have been boyfriendless for all my 16 years I haven't really had the need to celebrate the holiday, but I would give my friends cookies with valentine's for Valentine's day.. well, that was before I dropped out of regular school.

oh, that's cool. Sounds hard though. Did you do well?

I don't know about that, but studying is productive every once in a while before an exam xD.

Oh, I feel that there should be a balance between work and love. Too much of either is not a good way to go.

true, but it seems like i should stick with school for now, since i am good at that

The thing with love is, it comes around when you least expect it. When you try to force it, nothing will happen, but when you aren't looking for it: BAM. love appears.

Right now I'm way too busy with school to even pay attention to any guy around me. My main focus is getting through the exams and finally being done with the horror that is high school.

I'm just not good with identifying relationships.. I'm a bit dense when it comes to matter of the heart. :phew:
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Angel~ on March 17, 2014, 18:25
Trust me, it comes with experience. I used to be quite dense, but now, three relationships down the road, I'm getting the hang of it. So not to worry. You'll get there!  :goodjob:

i think if guys could get over my parents and how i am a little weird i think i would be good, but sometimes that is asking to much
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Angel~ on March 20, 2014, 12:32
The trick is not to introduce them to your parents until you have been together for a while and you're sure about it. Then there is the hiding your weirdness in the beginning and slowly showing more of it, kind of conditioning the guy to it. Oh, and warn them about weird/strange/awkward/stupid/etc your parents might do.
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Jess on March 20, 2014, 19:40
my parents won't let me hang out or date people unless they come meet them first, so i am kind of stuck in that part

no i couldnt find a roomate, so i am still here and hating it
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Arr-chan on March 22, 2014, 01:13
@Jess  Good roommates are hard to find. My sister has like, 5 people living in her house and I'm pretty sure she's the only one with a job. She's the one that pays the bills and cleans up her apartment. ALL BY HERSELF. sometimes i just want to smack her roommates.  :teardrop:

I think the only actual relationships i've been in have been online ones. And even then they didn't turn out well because of age differences.. so i usually don't count them.  I NEED BETTER GUYS TO LIVE AROUND ME, DAMN. i only have my stupid "popular" boy neighbors who have the attitude of snobs  :haix:

Post by: Angel~ on March 22, 2014, 05:01
Oh, that sucks Jess!!! I hope you find one soon...

I'm moving out soon as well... I hope I'll get good roommates...

Online relationships don't count Arr-chan... Snobby people are the worst!
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Arr-chan on March 23, 2014, 18:03
Then my relationship/boyfriend count= 0. I don't count the ones I had at the end of elementary because they were little kidships not relationships.

and yeah, they suck. the worst thing about the guys who live around me is that I can tell that they are faking everything they do. Its like i know how they act and they are actually quite nice people, but because of their friends they try so hard to be jerks and I just want to go up and be like "EVERYONE KNOWS YOU GUYS ARE NOT JERKS SO STOP ALREADY" but unfortunately they don't listen to me..  :haix:
Title: Re: Happy Valentine's Day ^_^
Post by: Angel~ on March 24, 2014, 06:20
Well, that doesn't make them undatable. If they are sweet around you, it should be all right. You can gradually make him be less of a jerk.

yeah, it really does come with experience.

my relationship count since the start of high school = 5 (and i'm finishing uni in two months). except two of those were only for a few months, wherein i realized they weren't really what i was looking for / i didn't care enough about them to justify including them in the balance of my life (school/volunteer/finishing up college apps).

i like to think that i consider each one of my past relationships a learning experience. as you progress through relationships, you learn more about yourself, what you like, what you dislike, what you're willing to put up with, when to keep trying, when it's not worth it anymore...

a lot of it also has to do with your own emotional maturity level and whether you're ready to take on genuinely caring about someone other than yourself - and vice versa.

Post by: Arr-chan on March 24, 2014, 18:41
@Angel- yeah, but they aren't though. They force themselves to be jerks around me because I am considered "Unpopular". YAY RETURN OF THE STEREOTYPES. They are nice, but because the guys around them treat me like crap, so do they so that they "Fit in". Its one of those intensely complicated really stupid things that prevents others from being friends with other people.  :haix:

I think that when it comes to relationships, everyone else knows that I'm the kind of person who will take it super seriously, while others know they are just screwing around. Maybe that's why I haven't had a boyfriend? I at least like the chance to be in a nice relationship, even if it didn't last long..

i have to disagree with this .__. if they're not nice to you / if they're jerks to you at all, then that makes them jerks.. i think you're just trying to justify their behavior which shouldn't be the case. either they're friends or they're not, there isn't really an in-between on this issue >__>;

also you probably haven't had a boyfriend because the right one hasn't come along. it isn't just a matter of two people wanting a relationship haha so many other things have to work out as well. *shudder, incompatibility issues*

Well, they aren't the only people I know who act one way, but want to act another and don't because they want to be part of the "IN" crowd.

and i suppose that's true enough. But the guy needs to move his ass already.  :=X:

Everybody wants to belong, even if you don't want to admit it. Humans want to stick together, so they adapt.

My approach with the whole love stuff is: What comes, comes. What doesn't come, doesn't matter. Just let it happen.
