Title: The online groups
Post by: Tammy on October 03, 2009, 09:51
So, i decided to make a poll, to see what everyone thinks. Sorry Xye, i kinda did it without permission.
If you don't think it's a good idea, then we'll stop.
But if we do decide to use twitter/facebook/other, how is it going to be run? What are we going to do on it?

Um...people can view our random rants and status-es at their own convenience?
*pauses*  :swt:

There are two posibilities:

1 - We write whatever we feel like - kind of like a diary
2 - We post info about us, the projects, their status, releases etc.

about werr's suggestions, we could do both, maybe on the same post. We could rant about the manga we're scanlating, or even rant about what it involves to scanlate a series. And also rant about how people steal our projects.
Title: Re: The online groups
Post by: Yume on October 05, 2009, 05:31
But I think that we should keep the above ranting to the minimum - it's not as if we're the only scanlation group or a staff betrayed us and sold us out on our projects or something (and hopefully never ever).

I mean - whining is fine but not excessively; unless it's humourous. XD"
I think readers would be more interested in various projects' status.
Well, that's just my input.

yeah, I think they would be interested in how the projects are going. And we should only rant if it's relevant to the project or the scanlation group.

So far, it seems twitter is leading. Just a question, though. Can multiple people post on twitter? and if so, if we did get an account, how many of the staff would actually write stuff for twitter?

I would write stuff on it~ but I don't have a twitter account yet xD I can make one if we are actually going to invade twitter.

Okay, we should ask for official clearance from Xye if we want to make an account :P
and also see what she thinks

:goodmood: I dont mind. But i wouldnt have the time to watch over it slash update it. But if you guys want another gathering place, its fine with me.

But as for making if available for the readers, i dont know, i dont think putting info all over the place would work XDD

If we had a Facebook or a Twitter, then if we had one with the url

twitter.com/ourtranscendence

or

facebook.com/ourtranscendence

Then there could be a group Login that's available to staff and anyone could post on it :)

Or is that too much of a LiveJournal style thing?
Title: Re: The online groups
Post by: Tammy on October 09, 2009, 14:35
we could do that.
Or we could get the live journal, but I was thinking just start with little posts on twitter about statuses, like 'just finished half of Shibariya and the SFX's are killing me. Expect it released next week' or something....

Oohh LJ. XD That may work too.

I don't have a twitter so I don't know about creating groups on it. But it seems that twitter and facebook are tied now. o__o

Do we need for everyone to get twitter accounts? We could just create one transcendence account, and then share the password between all of the staff. The only problem would be what email to use? We could use the transcendence email, or actually create a separate email for the twitter account that all of the staff can log in to...

looks like facebook is winning, facebook has a "group" thing that people can become part of so that might work.

Okay, I think i'm going to make a twitter account first, and see how it goes.
I'm proposing:
link: twitter.com/transcendencescs

And the email affliated with it would be
[email protected]

I haven't made any accounts yet, but if you guys think it's okay, then I'll go ahead.
Also, I'll post the passwords up in the staff section if everyone agrees.

yeah, would it be possible to post a link to the account on the website?
That might help...
And would it be okay to announce things such as 'what's going to be released soon' and stuff like that?

Didn't werr said that he has a "Follow Us to Twitter" icon? Maybe we can use that and put it on the website so people can click on it and redirect~
Title: Re: The online groups
Post by: Tammy on October 23, 2009, 19:14

Old threads that REALLY need to be reconsidered.
Tammy had such good ideas.
A moment of silence for such a loss.
O___o Button?! Who feels that we should give this another try? Anyone?
Erm... Hello? Anyone?  :'(

This sounds ok, but wouldn't it make more sense to just write all the stuff as blog posts on the main website? That way, people wouldn't have to go all over the place for updates.

Believe it or not, getting a facebook page would help with advertising.
There's no need to keep a blog on there though. Well, who knows? We've tried writing blogs too many times to count
