Help me?

I usually reward myself w/ a few minutes of something fun when I get to certain points in studying. It might depend on what you're studying, though. It worked pretty well for my molecular biology class.

No breaks =  *stress
Take a break once in a while.

I am a VERY easily distracted person, so switching gears is necessary for me.  If I have a bunch of things I NEED  to do and some I WANT to do, I start by taking the most important and most desirable and alternate them.

If a task is really long, I'll break it into big chunks.  Then I do one chunk of the need to do, then one chunk of the want to do until the need to do task is finished.

If my tasks are short, then I do one or two important tasks and reward with a desirable task.

Does this make sense? By doing small tasks or breaking large ones into chunks, I get them done before I get distracted (hopefully).  And by alternating tasks, it breaks up the monotony, also keeping me from getting distracted.  By doing fun things, it keeps me from burning out.

I have a system! :=D:

Thank you!

I will try that, but I usually start out distracted....
And as soon as I start something fun I can't stop....

Hopeless right?

^ me too, but the most fun and exciting part starts when the deadlines for my school work is near.

A pile of projects & homeworks. <--- Eternal Bliss.

Edit: ^No, that's not sarcasm.

^ 100000% sure. My brain functions to it's full capacity when I'm pressured, that's why it's kinda fun lol. But I'm not telling you to do the same =_= It's just my lifestyle is kinda like that, I'm used to it ever since and I think that kind of lifestyle fits me, I just make sure that I won't lose sight of my goals and I'll be fine.

You know, it's not really important what you prioritize, just keep in mind a list (or list it on a paper if you have to) of what you should do after you're bored with the 'interesting' or 'exciting' or 'fun' or whatever 'thing' you call it. In the end, it is yourself that will push you to do your things-that-is-important.

Honestly, I shouldn't be here editing stuff and whatsoever. The first time I worked in a group, I realized that, FOR ME, scanlating is one of my outlets when I LIKE to procrastinate, my schedule is fully packed everyday, 16 hours in weekdays, 10 hours in weekends - 7 days a week. LOL. Two words: TIME MANAGEMENT. <-- master this one and you'll become successful in life, hahaha (but hell yeah, it really works.)

Hahaha, I also do stuff at the last minute mostly, but now that the amount has increased it has become harder -.-
But since I wanna go into medicine, I ought to get high marks... With that goal I can push myself through another 2 (!) years of high school.

Your wise words will be taken into account and I will try to keep to it :)

Now sleep so I won't mess up my tests too bad...  *stress

That's why you break it into very discernible chunks, and when each chunk is finished, you switch! For example I create the mockup for a client's website (important) then I catch up on my RSS feeds for the day (fun).  Then I read a chapter from whatever book I'm studying (important) then I clean 2 pages of Joou no Hana (fun).  Each thing has a definite stop point.  I try to avoid doing things that can lead to other things (like looking at DeviantArt or youtube).

But sometimes I still get distracted anyway.   For people like us it's inevitable!

Lol just take it slow. Give it a break for at least 30 minutes then study again or do it both at the same time ( <- yeah, that's what I do always) Everybody loves procrastinating, tho some of them weren't honest about it. Me, I know myself that the laziness and procrastinating words cannot be erased anywhere in my system. Hahaha. Sometimes I finish my school work half way then I'll stop. I always have a big calendar on my face with large red circle for the due dates. I really don't know what kind of technique fits you, so you should figure it out yourself what you should do at least with the things you aren't prioritizing - the stuff-that-is-important.

True..... But my 'fun' is reading manga... Very hard to stop after you start..
But I decided not to read it anymore this week (=torture)
I will use your 'chunk method' by using fun time as watching one ep of anime :)
PR work is also fun but I just want to finish that when I get started- you're nicely inserted in the story and it takes less time to do it that way.. So that takes away that fun-time thing.. Since it takes me 2 hours to PR one chapter -.- I should probably get faster...
Facebook and youtube are big threats as well- ideas for watching movies nd then watching them online.. Bad habits..... My attentionspan is very short when it comes to things I dislike.. Which is stupid since school is important- just not interesting enough for me to pay attention to >.<'' too boring to me I guess? That's just me, always looking for things that can capture my attention...

Woops, sorry for ranting so much!!  :swt:
Now I shall just shut up...

 :=X: that's where restrain comes in.

Back in those days, before I start my revision/ studies, I usually planned something fun to do later on - as a reward (eg. watch my fav anime). Need to have some sort of discipline. It was 2 hours of torture (studying) and 1 hour of heaven (anime). I usually start with the subject I like less then move on to my favourites later. Reason? Well usually our concentration is better when we start, and commonly we don't do so well at subjects we dislike. So i would like to maximize my attention on the poorer subjects.

That's my logic, not sure if it works for everyone ^^;;
