Title: Hi everyone! New editor-in-training :-)
Post by: verdandi on May 09, 2012, 11:27
Hello! My name is verdandi and I am a new editor trainee.  I am a freelance graphic designer and have been editing photos and making digital art for several years, but manga is new to me.  I look forward to meeting and working with you all! :-D

Welcome! We sure have a lot of new editors around! A lot of new team mates as well. :D So welcome! What kind of graphic designs do you do? Do you have an examples?

I'm really into digital designs as well! I do a lot of horse manipulations and digital drawings. If you're curious to see my work my deviantart is whiterozepetals.deviantart.com ;3

Heee! Apparently I didn't have it set to notify me of replies so I didn't know I had any. *sad*

I do print and web design, geared toward other artists and creative professionals.  Lunatorium Designs: http://lunatorium.com/  I have DeviantArt too! http://missbunny.deviantart.com/  I'll look you up, WhiteRoze!  For digital artwork I do dark photomanipulations and I also do photography.  Those are mostly what you'll find there.

I really think I'm going to have fun with manga, but it might take me a while to get used to doing SFX in typesetting.  For some reason I get nervous about that!  But I can't wait to train.  It's so nice to meet everyone.

Hullo there! Welcome to Transcendence!

Oh my, my~ Graphic Design is <3 and your work is even more <3! (Yes, I am a proper stalker; however, it's only because I like to do my homework before I praise. :D) I absolutely adore your photo manipulations. They remind me a lot of the monthly challenges Photoshop World puts out. (Maybe you should try them - if you haven't already! They're a blast. <3)

I think the website for Lunatorium Designs is positively gorgeous. Back before I was a Cubicle, I was pursuing a degree in web design so I'm completely in awe and taking notes. ;) Cleaning manga is a switch, but it sounds like you're going to do fabulously! Good luck on your training!
:swt:... By the way, I'm Tear. :D Nice to meet you!

Thank you very much, Tear! The design for Lunatorium was an experiment in HTML5 & CSS3 and I had a lot of fun with it.

I haven't heard about the monthly challenges, but I looked up Photoshop World and all I found was a convention.  Is it through their newsletter? I'd love to try for it!

It's nice to meet you too!

... And this is why Tear should probably not use her memory after a long work day. :indotz:

You are correct: Photoshop World is just the NPAA conference, but you should go anyway! :D It's tons of fun and beyond worth it for the sessions. (At least, for the student fee it is. :x)

So... that contest was actually run through the Advanced Photoshop UK magazine. They had a monthly contest in their forums under the "Peer Pressure" category, which I somehow can't get to atm. >.>; The address just redirects me to their main page: http://advancedphotoshop.co.uk  :'(

Well! Anyway, they would run the contest winners in the magazine every month. I had found a few of the winners, but the search info I used has now vanished. ;-; Here's at least one of the winning image locations I somehow manages to save:
