:omg:
I am fed up with mosquitos, I don't think I am ever going to leave my house again. If I go outside for like one minutes, I get 5 mosquitos bites. And since I am semi-allergic to mosquito bites it is even worse.
Does anyone have any tips on avoiding getting bitten? Once I get bitten I just apply some balms and stuff to make it itch less, but once they heal, it leaves a brown spot that takes about 2 years to turn back to my normal skin color. Right now, my legs look really weird because there are brown spots all over. I look like I have a disease or something :'(
I learned the things that attract mosquitos the most are sweat and CO2 from Lily. However, I find it hard not to breathe ..
Oh &, bug repellent doesn't work, it actually seems to attract the mosquitos more...
Here's a site I found, and like...
I gave you a lot more tips for bug relief!
And avoid standing water/long grass! Stay high up and indoors....
I HATE THOSE LITTLE MONSTERS! :defend:

I want to fix the root of the problem of the mosquito bites, which is to not get bitten.
I remember the tips you gave for itch relief, like using toothpaste, aloe juice, deodorant, and vineager. I have a list of your tips in my folder of "things to remember". I want more tips on how to avoid mosquitos.
Close all windows, hide in a locked room 25 stories up. That's how to avoid it.
24/7, remember! :goodmood:
Okay two things ~
Get rid of any standing water around the house. They breed there.
Secondly, they are attracted to coconut. This includes any artificial coconut scents as well as oils, etc. So avoid using sunscreen that smells like coconut.
A) Impossible! Something I don't know?!!!
B) WHAT THE FUCK?! Eri's already rich! You don't know how long it took for me to get there! DAMMIT!
Soon she's going to catch up to me. *dead
A) I only found out the coconut thing about a year ago. It's some special chemical it has in it that secretes from your pores and attracts the mosquitoes.
I also suspect that there's some link with people that eat lots of chocolate (maybe having sweet blood?), cos I always get bombarded whereas my mum rarely gets bitten.
B) You made it super easy for me to get Rich ~ you post so much and often that I always have something to reply to.
I know.
Don't you dare respond to this one.
Well, I can tell you that there may be hope for the allergy aspect: I used to get bites that would become the size of baseballs (the actual raised bite itself, not the redness). Now I've mostly grown out of it.
I would advise you to wear a jacket or jeans when you're going to be outside for a long time...especially in the evening and at night.
And you're going to kill me for this, but if we didn't have mosquitoes, there wouldn't be enough food for the spiders and bats [I <3 bats ^_^]. (That's another idea: build a bat house)
Now take poison ivy...THERE'S something I think the world wouldn't miss...
Bats can eat flies.
I vote for mass destruction.
Ugh... Allergies are hellll. Maybe you should ask your doctor about those monster bumps, Michelle.
I never knew that mosquitos like coconuts..it kind of sucks because I am kind of addicted to coconut flavored things after going to Hainan which is like China's Hawaii.
I don't think there is a link to eating chocolate and getting bit because I barely eat any candy while my cousin eats piece after piece but she doesn't get bitten.

I don't even need sweat. mosquitoes are attracted to me by nature. once i went to a camp, first night. and the camp was full of bugs and insects and the like.... i thought one insect repellent would be ok enough, but i ended up with 8 mosquitoes bites <_< and nobody else in the same room got bitten. Then i put on another insect repellent, i had a good night all right and i laughed when the other girls complained about getting bitten. Teeheehee, sweet vengeance.
yep. you post so much it makes it easy for me to become noble.

To bring this board back on-topic XD
Apparently even when I am around like 20 or so babies/toddlers at a playground, I still get five mosquito bites while everyone else gets 0. You would think that the babies/toddlers would get bit more since there blood is probably better, right?
Also, during the 15 minute period, I didn't stop moving so I don't know how a mosquito got a chance to bite me ):
Firstly, you did breathe.
Secondly, you like coconut.
Thirdly, PLEASE don't weat ANY perfume.
Maybe you're just more ripe.
xD i always get bitten. now i don't go out doors so............hee hee heeeeee.......

Well, it's all good when you're 21 floors up and you don't open the windows.
Well, only 18 floors. (no 4, 13, 14)
i china, the first couple floors are the COMPLETE WORST. and it ends up........that i had to stay over my aunts house in china 4 years ago..........................that was on the FIRST FLOOR.
I WAS EATEN AAALIVE!!!!!
:indotz:
G-G-G-God help us!!! SKjfl;ajfkjds;!!!
I am currently living in the highest apartment in the building..which is level nine so sometimes there are mosquitos but probably not as many as the lower levels.

haha, I don't even like butterflies...they always scare me by suddenly appearing out of no where D:
aw......i did a butterfly dance a while ago. i loved the little costumes xD
I hate them... I kill them when I see them... but I also fear them because god knows who's blood they have being sucking before and it will always be too late when you found out that they carried virus. -_- I REALLY HATE THEM! THEY ARE SO ANNOYING!!!! But good thing that are not in my house. It's rare for them to get in my house and even if they did, they are killed right away. Besides my blood doesn't really attract them either.
LET'S GO SHIKI!!! LET'S GO SHIKI!!! DON'T LET LIL CATCH UP!!!
You wish.
Shiki's my next hurdle. But just like I jumped over the others, Shiki will go down, too.
:bye: LOL!
Hmmm...? o.o I don't get what you guys are talking about? lol
It's a post count war, Shiki.
I'm right below you, and I'm back from my un-posting hiatus!
Let's have some fun, SHiki!
Ooh... lol but it won't be hard to beat me thou. I don't post as much as you do lol ><
LOL! I barely post! You're so mean, Shiki! >_>
aw..........nice use of sarcasm there!! :dignose:
WAIT! That wasn't sarcasm! Shiki posts more than I do! O_O
but he doesn't post as frequent.
I heard that if you eat lots of garlic and don't eat lots of sugar they won't bite.
:swt: they're like little vampires aren't they? lol garlic.
@Icey: :noway: Oh my! Your right. They are! And they prefer people with type O blood. Wow... so that's what happened to all the vampires. They turned into mosquitos. That way they could get more blood :wahaha:. Evil little things...
D: O blood?! that's the majority of people :swt:
i'm O blood and mosquitoes love me *dead
Aw poor Icey! I have no clue what blood type I am, but I even get bit by them in my house! There everywhere! :noway:
today, a mosquito bit through my long pants =_=
and on my hand...again. :touched:
a mosquito bit through my pants too... how do they even do that? I got on the bus today and everyone on the bus was constantly swatting mosquitos.
I'm glad that it winter here because there no mosquitos. The only time mosquitoes bother me is in summer at night...
I like the comparisons of Mosquitoes to vampires...
i've gotten 5 more mosquito bites. in ONE DAY T_T
lol... my one cousin went home after one of his campt covered with mosquito bites :=X:
T_T i got another one on my knee yesterday.
grrr...the city isn't safe either!
one of my closer friend told me this: Cockroaches and mosquitoes are part of the price that humanity have to pay for sharing with Mother Nature.
T_T i got another 5 of them in one night...
O_O...well that's nice to know xD?
Ew, i hate them.
but I ignore them if they don't bother me. :DD
Is this, like, the only post you've done without size 10000 font and pink?! :o_o:
Back to the topic... I. Hate. Mosquito. Bites. I don't actually hate the animal itself, but the bites they leave behind are worse than sunburns. :touched:
I was playing tennis at a court I don't visit a lot, so I didn't know that the mosquitoes there are OUT TO GET YOU.
I walked away with 7 bites that day.
:bingo:
I've heard that mosquitoes have weak wings, so when your outside try to get a lot of air flow around the area that you have to be (like pull out a big industrial-sized fan) if you have to be outside in one place for an extended period of time... plus it doubles as a good way to keep a bit cooler.
:goodjob:
If you have a large body of water on your property like a pond, its almost essential to have fish in it to eat the mosquitoes and keep them from overpopulating... or if you have enough room you could attract mosquito-eating animals like some types of birds and bats.
:hmmm:
Other than that, just limit outdoor exposure and only go out on bright or windy days.
Seems like your the expert on mozis :=X:
:wahaha:
Hardly... I usually just stay inside due to my sensitivity to light (bright lights give me terrible headaches) which also keeps me safe from those ravening insects known as mosquitoes.
My leg is full of mosquito bites and scrathes :omg:

I do the same... And the mozis are comeing back these days :crywithno:
Hope they'll dissapear soon :'(
they like warm weather... which is a reason not to like summer... and we have looong summers :crywithno:
Malaysia have only sun and rain...
Sun = mosquitoes outdoor
Rain = mosquitoes indoor
Either way have mosquitoes
:omg: I feel sorry for you!
I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM.
A few years ago, I got 17 bites on both of my legs altogether. B/c I couldn't fall asleep, I stayed up squeezing (as if it were a zit) the @$#@$#@ stuff the little buggers stick in you that irritate your skin :noway:
I've avoided going outside at night as much as possible during the summer since then.

That's why I stay in condo now, to avoid mosquitoes.
Indoor now = Window and door closed, air cond opened and closed only when necessary.
Mosquitoes are not welcomed in my house :goodjob:

I shall try that air flow tip sometime. I have a few 'Asian' folding fans that I love to collect.
hahaha I like the idea... Sitting outside with a big fan blowing your hair into all directions :hmmm:
I can't :touched: Once the window is opened, they come in...immediately. :'(
My little bro is allergic to the pests, when they bite him he ends up with hives...
That's unlucky :swt: I'm allergic to bugs too. Once they fly or cross over me, my skin get itchy.
isnt that kind of normal?
