What's your major(s)?
Or what do you want your major to cover?
*is making more threads so I can take over the world. Kidding, kidding. T___T
management (business) and english as an international language <3
yeah, go the obscure majors of uni.
well. im about to major in information systems and management (technology).
and am nervous about uni. @@
physical therapy
well, I want to become a dermatologist but there isn't really a "major"
I have to take a 4-year college degree (I can sort of major in anything I want/can, and take the pre-med courses in bio, chem, physics and math), 4 years of medical school (where I can start to specialize in dermatology) and then a dermatology residency.
:(
I am going to be like 30+ by the time I start working..
Well, I want to major in pre-med, but if that doesn't work, then chemistry.
Although right now I'm preparing myself for eight years of college...

You should prepare yourself for 9 years, since sometimes you have to go through 5 years of medical school...
med school is killer...
My friend : "i calculated! I'm going to officially start working as full flesh Neurosurgeon at the age of 37!!!"
Me: "....so much..SCHOOL. -gives up the idea of being plastic surgeon-"

Yeah, but then I found out that I'm going to at least eleven years of learning (including training)...
Med school is a killer.
Well, at least I'll be able to work as a pediatrician at 28...at the earliest.
.............:haix: i'm sure i won't be a doctor of any sort. no way.
Bumping this back to the top because I wonder about things.
Notes to my self, I nearly forgot half of this:
In memory of Zeph, her major is horticulture.
And as a shout-out to Twilight, she's majoring in fashion/art design, music (performance flute).
On a similar vein, Sharwie's major is in Biology information something or the other. He hates it in a way.
I really want to know what Nicole is majoring in. And what Saki/Shiki will major in. I have to remember to ask... D;
I am going to use my research experience from high school to get into a good undergraduate school in US (I will just say I want to major in chemistry / biology. I will have taken both APs by the end of senior year)
But once I get into my dream liberal arts school (Cornell. or U Chicago. But preferably Cornell... Nope not aiming for a top Ivy / I am a little lazy so...) I WILL IMMEDIATELY MAJOR IN HISTORY MUHAHAHAHA! And then go into a law school. I think Asian females are not disadvantaged when applying to law schools? But ya let's hope it works out~
On a side note, I might just stick with being a future dentist if I don't hate it too much.
Accounting; hands down.
Japanese, Mathmatics: Secondary Education (can't stand little kids), Librarianship(?), Massage Therapy :woohehe:
are my other interests.
graduated in may but i had a major in accounting (w/ focuses in tax and information systems) and another in business administration (focuses were business law/finance and operations management)
I'm majoring in Elementary Eduction with a double minor in Psychology and Special Education. After I get my bachelors degree I'm going to do my Masters degree for Special Eduction online.
cheers for masters.... i'd hate that much school all at once tbh T__T
gonna wait maybe 5-6 years and then just do my masters in business taxation as a bunch of evening courses at my uni, so 1) the firm pays for it and 2) i don't have to study/write for anything other than my cpa exams for the foreseeable future
Yeah that's super cool your company will pay for it. Once I get my teaching degree I'm going to start working and then I'll complete my masters online while I teach. ^-^
:noway:
schoooool!
i did a communication design minor (so fine arts / marketing / entrepreneurship) for a little while before i got annoyed with the marketing classes and dropped it. is there a lot of overlap with your psych/special edu classes?
I don't really have a major, just going to med school... So long to go... :crywithno:
I'm an English Major with a Writing Minor.
And here I am just trying to get my degree in Mechatronics after I failed my Electrical Engineering one

I am unsure of what you mean by "a lot of overlap with psych/special edu" classes? :???
oh umm like are there any classes that count for both of the minors!
Oh yes. I did a lot of those classes as electives so it's not going to cause me to be in school for a longer period or anything. I only need 2 more Pysch classes to finish minor in it and then I have to do a few more Special Ed ones but a lot of those count towards my Elementary Education teaching degree.
oh~ cool! yup haha having classes that give you credits for both really help x__x
it's really fun taking classes totally outside of your major/minor though
Yeah, I really wanted to try a Japanese class but they don't really offer them at my school. I'm gonna take ASL in the Fall though! So excited for that! :goodjob:
whaaat no japanese classes? that's a pity
i need to get back into studying it. maybe after i finish up my third exam, but that won't be til april
learning ASL sounds cool. probably really useful to your profession too, right?
Yeah it can be!
I know, it was surprise that there were no Japanese classes! It's a State University too! There's Chinese, but sadly no JP. Although I'm sure taking a JP class would kill me on top of all my other classes! I'd need a lot of time to focus on JP which is what deters me from trying to learn it on my own.
Although, I've started learning ASL on my own. I know the alphabet and a few words. I've been slowly teaching it to myself the last few weeks haha. I think once I start taking ASL I'll probably start signing everything when I talk to people to really get it to stick in my mind! People will think I'm weird. xDDD

Heh, I'm up at UC Santa Cruz and it looks like they've discontinued their Japanese language classes. So me and my anime loving friend are heading to Osaka next year for a study abroad research program. (Chem/Bio double major)
